Up for a stag do with 3 mates staying in one of the lodges. We're doing a bit of fly fishing and whisky tours etc etc and are toying with playing some golf. My 3 mates play golf but they are not members of clubs and they are not serious enough golfers to shell out a Gleneagles green fee. Therefore I have a couple of questions for you all.......

1. One evening I'm going to try and jump on a twilight rate at Gleneagles, which of the 3 courses would you recommend ?

2. Can you recommend any local courses where the 4 of us could play one afternoon ?

Thanks

I havent played the Queens, but loved the Kings, then the ryder cup course, although it was when it was firest built, so may have had some big changes since (I know the 18th went from a par 4 to a par 5).

Definitely try and play Auchterarder. It's a great course and borders the PGA (15th?.. It's the hole where Donaldson won it).

As said auchterarder is right next door and a good course, I played the PGA a few weeks ago on the twilight rate, the course had a few greens cored but they should be fine now. They let us play much earlier than the specified 4pm twilight time as the course was empty. Maybe you should compare prices with auchterarder and gleneagles though, I think auchterarder is about £40/45 a round, if the 4 of you play gleneagles on the twilight it will only cost you another 25 quid each.
