County Golf Administration - a bit of a moan

This year I am on the Lancashire Ladies Executive. I didn't really volunteer but I knew a couple of members and they were struggling to fill the posts and I agreed to be a rep for our division.
Its not a massive commitment, attend about half a dozen meeting a year, only one of which is in the golf season and organize and run any county comps in your area, normally there are 4 in each division.
I was rather surprised that they don't get many volunteers until today, which was a bi annual club delegates meeting. I was on the desk signing in delegates from my region and was shocked that only 3 clubs out of 31 in the region bothered to attend.

It is sad that although lots want to play in county run events so few show any interest in giving up a bit of time to help run things.

Unfortunately Louise, most are prepared to moan but then not do anything about it when they have the spare time to. It's admirable that you have volunteered for the right reasons, But and this is a massive but, beware that your workload does not get to heavy with people now wanting you to do more. especially if you are the right/ lower side of 50. And a big :thup: for your efforts Louise! I'm sure it'll be an eye-opener for the goings on. Just make sure you stay true to your own views and don't get caught up with the 'politics' - though I'm pretty certain you are quite capable of doing that!

yeah me too was about to panic my fav golf store was closing


juxt out out of interest Louise has my club (Ashton and lea) signed up? If not will pass a message on to my missus

I don't know if Ashton & Lea, Matt, were there as they are not in my region.
