If both 9s are the same what does it come down to?

A play off or a tie I'm guessing ?

Ours are usually back nine comparison, then back six, then back 3 then individual holes starting from 18 and working back ..... if after all of that then it's declared a tie !

Or sometimes it is a coin toss. Countback is a glorified random system anyway, so a coin toss is no more or less meritorious.

I was only referencing what our comps do ... basically the competition rules for a tie can be anything at all depending on who wrote them.
