Hi,

From reading this forum a lot, I know that you lot know you stuff :), but can anyone give me some insight on counter balanced putters:confused::confused::confused:.

I am about to regrip my putterand wondering if I should put some weight at the topof the grip?

Apparently Justin Rose did this for the US Open win?

Any thoughts

Thanks
Dan

recent releases by odyssey and TM not sure how it would work on a standard length putter as the released counter balance version have an extended shaft (2" i think) and the extra weight is not increase MOI and alter the COG.

I've got one, a spider ghost blade.

In effect it's got a 38 inch shaft and a belly putter grip, with a heavier than standard head, or so I understand.

You could probably get the same affect if you bought a belly putter off ebay. chopped 2 inches off so it can't be anchored and re grip with a belly putter grip.

you may need one of these to get the true counter balanced feel.

but the grip itself may be enough.

i may try this myself

Counterbalancing has always been an option - even on 'standard' length putters.

There are 'Balance Certified' weights for use in Drivers, Putters or even irons.

I used one in a putter for a while, but preferred the heavier head feel without it - especially after I lopped another inch off the length!

I was told by the TaylorMade Tour guys yesterday that Sergio counter balances his irons, can't remember I'd they said woods as well, but def irons, found that interesting!
