Could tiger of won today if he was leading over night ? I think he could as his attitude would of been so different and I suppose every other player will have that fear of having to chase tiger AGAIN he just didn't seem happy today chasing.

One of the strangest stats is that Tiger has never won a Major from behind. Weird given his ability and the fact that when he was at his best he could intimidate a field like Nicklaus used to. Jack used to think that if he put a few birdies together the guys in front would feel the pressure and fall away. Often he was right. Maybe for Tiger that effect just used to happen on Saturday.

Definitely not the force he once was his overall game is not quite as sharp as it once was and I don't think he will ever get back to that level again. He may have won if he was leading but deffo not the shoe in that it once was

Stupid question............

The fact remains that he did not win and as for chasing the only thing he was chasing was his ball into the crap...

Was a big dropped shot on 17 in round three, un-tiger of old like mistake, and also altering the draw rather than being out in last group with Westy being with Stevie can't of helped.

Yea his nowhere near his peek but I think he just has another mind set when leading into a Sunday and all the other players will constantly be looking to see where tiger is on the score boards but his still playing hot with 4 wins (I think) within contention of a major and back to n.o1 all in 1 year. Not bad for a so called has been.

It's strange that whenever he wins we here about tiger being back yet when he does not win he was not at his best, aye right........

Personally I think he played some of his best golf today but unfortunately it was not good enough.

Did you change your mind?

Or do some of his shots just (still) have that wow factor!

He shot his poorest score of the tournament 'today'!

His putting was better on Friday and Saturday imo

He played the best he could and at the top off his game for sure, even at his best he hit it in the crap alway has and always will.

I think yesterday demonstrated why Tiger is unlikely to match or beat Jack.

There are just too many other players capable of beating him now.
That's not to say he won't win another Major, although it's a long time since he has and the pressure must be similar to that which the likes of Westwood and Garcia face every time.
HIs final round performances in Majors for the last few years simply haven't been good enough and unless he can get a 2 or 3 shot lead on a Saturday night, I don't see him having enough to keep others at bay another 4 or 5 times.
Realistically, as he's 37 now, he has around 30 chances left, maybe a few more if the body holds up.
If he hasn't won any of the last 20 can anyone genuinely see him winning 5 of the next 30..?
With more and more younger guys coming up to challenge?
Chances are not quite as slim as getting to scratch in a year but, to my eyes, not much better.

I think his game plan of old, that he persists in using when he plays a links course, isn't good enough because his recovery play isn't good enough anymore. His mindset is stuck in what worked before but, in reality, his game is different now. He needs to recognise that and attack more.

Bizarre thing that Tiger is renowned for his mental strength but has only ever won from the front.

I don't think it would have made any difference tbh. Tiger is "just" a world class golfer now. He used be in a class of his own.
