Cost of playing Snooker

Yes, - If you play yourself then ......what you pay locally or if you have the occasional game, you would consider reasonable.

Looking to establish what's the 'fair' cost per hr to hire a good quality, un-heated, snooker table @ a small local Social Club?

Northern Snooker in Leeds charge - £14 for 2hrs on standard table (similar to ours)........ £16 for 2hrs on a heated table (considerably better)

Our small Private Club with a Bar & 50 active members currently charges £5 an hr & in the current financial climate we're hearing increasing 'grumblings'.

Interested to get folks' opinions.

I would have thought £5 an hour was more than reasonable, but then I'm near London where prices for anything have a mind of their own. Wouldn't even be surprised to see £10 an hour. (I've not voted since I don't really play so my feelings are based on nothing more than a wild stab.)

Yes I can get that......... it's just that a similar Club a couple of miles away charges just £2 an hr for their best tables & £40 Full membership (£10 associate). Our Membership is £25.

Snooker Hourly Rate – £9.50 per hour

Snooker Match Table Hourly rate – £10.50 per hour (no long play deals available)

OAP Snooker Rate – £6.00 per hour

Solo Snooker Practice Rate – £6.50 per hour

Sports bar/club in Milton Keynes is £8.50 an hour for snooker, £7.50 an hour for pool, rate gets discounted from 3+ hours and they often have daytime deals at lower rates

The snooker centre nearest me is around £6 per hour. I think the rate goes up on a weekend and possibly changes on a night. Usually, if I pop into the social club my Dad goes in for a few jars with him, we’ll have a game. They still charge 50p “for the light”, which provides 20 mins of playing time.
