A quick post to say a sincere thanks to Smiffy for organising a great day on Friday at Cooden Beach.

For those of you that did not or could not attend - it was a great day. Weather was awesome, the course was in very, very good condition and the club itself made us all very welcome.

It was a venue I have wanted to play for some time and I feel privileged to have now been there. I met some new friends and had a great time.

Seriously, many thanks Rob. People like you make it easy for people like me to enjoy our chosen sport.

Dave

Thanks for the kind words Dave, I'm glad that you, Robin and Guy enjoyed it.
Not a problem organising something when it all goes as smoothly as this one did. Not one cancellation, not one late or "no show"....and as you say, the weather was kind to us.
I will be arranging it again for next year, similar date, and hopefully we'll get as many, if not more down there next time.
And a nice little cup to be won.
;)

Yep, a good day, and thanks to Smiffy for organising. Always take my hat (purple through preference) off to guys willing to put them selves out to organise things.

A Smiffy meet with no rain, who would have thought it?

It tried as we were playing the 18th

Thanks again Smiffy for organising a great day.

My Father-in-Law apologised about dinner, but he left the jacket and tie at home for some reason :D

Agree entirely. Many thanks to Rob for arranging the day and the weather too!

Also, thanks to all of you at Golf Monthly for some great banter and golf, especially James and Paul - a brilliant day and some awesome golf.

As the only non-member of the GolfMonthly forum, I thought I really ought to join so as promised, here I am.

Cheers all!

Bratty

Nice to have you aboard Bratty, and was good to see you again. Thanks for making the effort to attend.
You weren't the only non Golf Monthly member by the way.
Preet is from Golf Magic (he has registered on here but hasn't posted yet, I don't think).
Alan Bannister and Ray Taylor are not members (although Ray keeps threatening to register. He came on the Castle Stuart trip by the way). Khalid has registered as VJ Swing but has only made 2 posts!
Dave (Heronsghyll) bought two friends along with him who aren't registered members, and RichardC's Dad Charlie isn't a member, so you weren't alone!

;)

Have emailed Cooden to say "thank you" for an enjoyable day and already heard back from them.
They have pencilled a date in for our return next year...

FRIDAY 19th AUGUST
And as an additional bit of fun, there will be a dozen "quality" balls as a prize to the person who wears the most garish outfit on the day!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Count me in, Rob, although I'm amazed they've invited us back after some people's behaviour during dinner - you know who you are... Justone! ;)

Wish I'd known Preet was GolfMagic - we could have given each other some moral support! Although in fairness, I was not made to feel like a leper, so all was great! ;)

I knew the git was up to something, but didn't know what.
Got a bit suspicious when I saw him skulking back to the clubhouse as we were driving out of the car park.
Said he was going back for a slash....

I agree in the old adage "what goes on tour, stays on tour", but what I will say is that Justone was offered the chance to be "strapped down and fed out the back" by a cheeky little minx of a waitress.

And that's as much as I'm at liberty to divulge! ;)

I think he had a bit of tough steak and asked the young lady if she would like to chew his meat for him

I seem to remember that her face went the same colour as his shirt.

To be fair, I think he said it to all three waitresses so fair play to him!!
