controlled anger...

Welcome.

Is it normal for someone to take their dog with them when they are playing? I've seen many dog walkers on the course but never seen any one playing a round and walking their dog.

Yeah seen a few do it at courses around here including Woburn

Well you do learn something new every day.

Perhaps the dog pinched the ball. We used to have an old boy at our course who would send his dog into the bushes to look for lost balls and then sell them for charity.

hey there green bay.. The Dog was tied to his bag if I remember rightly but seems to be the norm down here, I personally don't have a problem with it although some others are not to keen, when I joined in the summer I thought ideal, I'll bring Mr Pickles along for a walk, which didn't go down to well, as he's cross between a Jack Russell and a colly, and started rounding up the sheep to the back of the 1st green :smirk:

Strange two ball that..One man and his dog..However,frustrating yes, if you were having a good knock whether it is a proV or Donnay 77777 super soft, doesn't really matter..

Hey Rumpokid.. One man and his best friend on the golf course seems a pretty good pair up to me

Yelverton!? I learned how to play golf there, great course and really tough when the weather not too good.

13th is one of the hardest golf holes I've come across, anywhere.

Could you have not called over? "Excuse me chief, didn't see a prov1 come over this way did you?"

Welcome btw

Hey buddy... I was trying to scan the area but at the same time he was outta there sharpish, I thought I'd catch him and ask him on the 13th green but by the time I had got to the 18th he had cut across the 2nd tee gate closing behind him, crossing the road and heading back down the 1st towards the club house, which further added to my suspicions :D then also swerved us once we got back (shaking head)

13th today played it twice, 1st time Driver 5W, found it head height in a bush at the back of the gorge in front of the 2nd, tried to claim a free drop for its uniqueness to no avail, took a drop got up and down for a booga, 2nd time round Driver 6I lipped out for birdie tap in par :o such a good hole, very testing.... been a while since I layed up tho confidence getting greater by the week!

The more you play the more ofte you will lose balls in the strangest of circumstances.

3 weeks ago playing the 8th at my club I smoked a hybrid up the middle of the fairway, honestly one of those strikes you never forget. Both my playing partners sliced into the trees/deep deep rough.

Guess who lost their ball?

Tough draw that... seen it happen myself am still bewildered to where it went, just vanished!

A playing partner of mine had a Burlington (?) Terrier, and quite often takes it for a walk around Ruislip Golf club early weekday mornings. Gives her a sniff of a golf ball and BAM! The dog bounds into the bushes and I kid you not retrieves 30 or so each walk. He never buys balls anymore.

Not that my story has much to do with the OP. Welcome none the less!

Hey there dufferman thanks for the welcome... OP?? Your referring to the old person  old pickles? well trained mutt that, I've not a chance with Mr P he's not interested in anything ball related, unlike his owner... I know Ruislip Golf Club pretty well, an old school mate used to live on the back of it, back then tho, we were more interested in getting inside the buggy garage down the lane, sneaking out in the middle of the night, having races, jumping bunkers, Oh the shame... I guess we we're the original jackass's twenty years ago (not proud):mmm:.. thinking back now, I wish I had started playing back then when I was only 13, guess that spell wetted my appetite for the beautiful game.. Must put RGC on my GCTPBID list..
