Conspiracy theories, how do you feel about them?

For some reason I opened Youtube to a whole load of Conspiracy Theory videos. Stuff like 9/11 was an inside job, the Rothchilds rule the world and that there's aliens on the moon.

My dad is very deep into all this stuff, in a massive way. He actually believes that huge Amazonian women will rule the world one day. Yes I know that sounds mental, but it's very real to him.

Some theories make sense to me but I tend not to get too involved in them because it would drive you mad.

What's the forums view of them when you read them?

Unfortunately my lad seems to believe the CIA were responsible for bringing down the Twin Towers, to justify a war. When we spoke about this I asked him if he'd watched any of the documentaries where structural engineers - including those who designed the blocks - explained why the towers came down in the way they did. Nope - he hadn't - quite.

I believe some are to be found up Rugeley way - live in a huge square metal tent - well there certainly are plenty of fierce women who speak a curious language thereabouts.

Some are very believable i guess , to tell the truth i dont know & try not to care too much about the ones i do read or hear about ,
Media, (be it books , films, Documentaries what ever ) is just so easy to invent or to corrupt .

There is alota stuff i guess we are better off not knowing the truth to..

Anyone else convinced Kennedy was killed by his own people ?

I enjoy watching conspiracy theory documentaries. It seems when most of them are proven wrong people that believe them just seem to find more and more conspiracies.

9/11 is an interesting one but I just find it to hard to believe that it was an inside job.

I have watched the 9/11 one and found it very interesting how they can come up with such an elaborate story and make it sound that it really could have been a conspiracy.

The bit about the pentagon was very interesting.

Paul your dad needs a shrink:D [joking of course].

Has any conspiracy theory ever been proved to be right?

Not sure purely because any that pop up are quickly rubbished and the author labelled a nutjob by the powers that be. There seems to be a lot of research done by those that support them. I sit on the fence most of the time. I think if you were to get too in deep with it all I reckon you'd end up a lonely person indeed. My dad is labelled a nutjob by most folk. He just has far too much time on the internet.

My boss (on the first day I met him face to face), while at lunch and talking about technology advances in general actually came out with........"there's that black knight satellite you know, been circling the earth for hundreds of years and they just can't explain it". Went on to say he really believes human life came from the stars...."explained" about the "star child skull"......told me with absolute certainty that "evolution's the biggest load of bollocks he's ever heard of"......"how can monkeys change into people? It's just ridiculous".

........The really scary thing is he used to be in the army and a firearms officer in the Met.

I found some of the moon landing conspiracy videos really interesting, especially when they showed very simple explanations that some were allegedly false and filmed in the desert because of various shadows at incorrect angles, I love a good conspiracy, that's why I'm a blue :smirk:

Some are daft, some make you think, 9/11 and the Pentagon is odd, the woman on the mobile in the Charlie Chaplin film, just 2 I've never been convinced with either way.

Like everyone has it in for Sevco? That they are innocent and not to blame for their downfall?

Not a conspiracy - everyone does have it in for Sevco. Did they deserve it is another matter :)

But that was then. Scottish football is moving on (slowly). Hopefully Rangers supporters can do also (see - I've not used the The prefix) - though there is massive resentment held by many of their number.
