after being told about conforming drivers i just did some research. Am now concerned do i need new irons i hope not as only had them 10months they was a valentine present. says 2009 fine but 2010 no.

http://www.randa.org/en/Equipment/E...model=Burner Plus&clubType=Iron&action=search

just starting to read about it and check all my other clubs

my driver conforms which is always a bonus but do they change the club rules often and if so why?

cant seem to even find my benross on the club list accept for the driver. far as i can see my ping hybrid is ok

think i need to do more research about this subject but wondered if anyone can do me a brief explination

Your irons will be fine until at least 2024. The driver thing goes back to the "trampoline" effect off the face makes next to no difference to us mere mortals but there you go. All drivers sold within the last couple? of years will be ok.

as far as im aware clubs that are not on the list are fine, club that are on teh list as effectively banned. i was gutted when it was brought to my attention that my 6 month olf driver was non-conforming, it was awesome.

sure i seen one was fine but the same club on a different loft wasnt might just be that one club

You can have two clubs with the same loft and one will be non-conforming and you can have two clubs with different lofts that are ok, as I said in my first post it is to do with the coefficient of restitution (COR) which is basically the trampoline effect of the face.

On the R&A site it lists my Ping G5 3w as having non-conforming grooves?! It says it relates to "club number: L" and "loft: 27".
Confused ?? Pls tell me it's not banned, link below.

The official answer......

"What do the new groove rules mean to the rest of us, to "regular" golfers? Not much, really. Unless you are a tournament golfer (and play in high-level tournaments at that), you probably don't have to worry about the grooves on your clubs - and whether they are "legal" - until at least 2024".

So unless you are planning to keep your G5 longer than 13 years or so, I wouldn't worry
