Has anyone heard of this event, only heard about it today. Top amateur golfers Ryder cup style event.

Captains Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin.

Looks very good.

Stateside yes but that's because the guarantee 2 places I think.

Sounds like someone trying to turn a buck to me. And who is the promo aimed at? Turn up to the "Recognition Breakfast" to "learn more about the game of golf, and the matchplay format". Give me strength...

And Nicklaus and Jacklin are only "honorary captains" who it seems will be doing no more than turning up for a bit on day one. Hmm. The names are being paid and the rest are paying and someone is getting the dosh. With a bit perhaps going to the charities.

Good idea for decent players "no mans land" between the kids and seniors.

Seems to be a closed shop picked on reputations and names. If it continues, would be great to see qualification from The Logan or the mid am oom

Mmm. Looks rather like a promotional vehicle for The Concession Club in Florida, as well as a potential money spinner.

I find it odd the extent to which the concession at the 1969 RC has defined Tony Jacklin's career, sometimes more so than his US Open or Open wins. A great golfer gave him a 2 foot putt. They shook hands. Some Americans were annoyed by this. The end.

I think if it does continue then it must give a bit of hope for all the decent amatuer golfers, I agree some of the events like the logan trophy should count towards qualification for the event.
