Admittedly, I only skim read the site - wonder how this fits in with retaining amateur status?

don't get me started......

they clearly breach the principles of the Rules of Amateur Status with many of their events (if not all!) and, at the end of the day, the pressure on any player's integrity has to be huge....

"....because amateur golf is largely self-regulating, both in terms of the playing Rules and handicapping, uncontrolled financial incentive could place too much pressure on these important features and could be detrimental to the integrity of the game."

it's a 'netherworld' to amateur golf
 
I did notice this extract below, but without further info I have no idea what they are on about ...

In order to compete in our closed competitions and avoid the maximum amateur payment regulation you must become an affiliated Mygolfbuddies.co.uk member.
