What's a competition win worth at your club?

Does the Division 1 winner get more than the winner of the higher handicap division?

I won a competition (2nd div) and trousered a £45 voucher for the pro shop. Just wondered if it was an average prize.

We have quite a small number playing midweek comps so.a win gets yoi£20 or so.
The weekend comps are about 2or 3 times that

Ours are usually good, up to this point I am about £40 in profit this year for competitions! Well my handicap has come down from 17 to 14.5 in under 6 months...

I have an excuse, I only started playing the game properly in March and only got my handicap and entered competitions from June.

For my weekly club stableford wins I have got up to £40 and the second places etc yeilded about 20 each. No 2s wins as yet.

Majors pay out about 70 and prizes, the next one is a week on Sunday, I am very excited as I qualify to enter due to my competition wins this year.

I managed to win £135 for coming second in our August Medal, which was run in conjunction with another trophy. There were no divisions winner takes all.

£75 was the prize for second (£90 first prize) onto Pro shop account. I also won first prize sweep of £60 on to bar card, as the winner of the medal was a junior, and not eligible to win the sweep ! :D

Not a bad days work, although i did miss out on the trophy to a net 58 !

Our £3 per head entry fees for monthly medals/stablefords are pooled together and the top 3 in each division get the same split so the winners all get the same top prize the seconds get the same and so do the third places.

If it is a team (foursomes, fourball better ball etc) then the winning pair share the money and for an honours board event the winner takes all. I've still got about £80 from my win earlier in the year and a couple of top threes.

Some competitions are worth a little more than others in our place.
For example open week usually more enticing prizes. professionals day is also worth more it's not a major so no trophy but a higher value prize.
Usually first in each div gets the same, overall winner is higher and best gross usually similar to the division winners.
Twos are sometimes worth more than a placing, so if the day isn't going as well as expected, more effort is put into the par 3s.

On a sunday the comp would be worth around 45 - 50 euro for first second around 35 euro dunno about gross the wednesday open would be around the same depending on numbers. There is 1st 2nd 3rd gross maybe 4th depending on numbers, and we get GUI vouchers than can be used in most places even in the resturant in the club!

Usually about £20 ish for winning the division I think. I got £50 ish for winning the singles this year and £55 for another major comp win. Got £70 for the club champs win , but got £175 for our club owners sponsored major comp.

We dont have that many peeps enter comps so its never going to be big money for medals

Ours is pretty poor to be honest as we only have about 200 playing members and a number of them are mid week players.

For a trophy comp you get £10 and in the monthly's its the sweep so anything from £5-12. I did win a shirt worth £70 in vice captains day and cashed it in, that's the most I have won.

Our comps are £2 entry, usually 4 qualifying rounds and 36 qualify for final. We pay 1st, 2nd, Best Gross, 3rd, 4th at £300/200/150/150/100 for the Captains/Presidents comps. The other two main ones are 200/150/100/100/75. We have a subsidiary for the players not in the final which always pays 150/100/75/75/50. We also have a couple of "on the day" board comps with no qualifying rounds which pay 120/80/60/60/40. Winter comps just pay what we take.
