Off to Vilamours next Thursday for a few days, playing the Oceanico Courses (Old, Victoria, Millennium)

Theres 14 of us, range of handicaps from 6 to 28.

Looking for some ideas from experienced forummers as to how to design a team comp to run over the three days.

14 of us means 2 teams of 7, and groupings will be 2x4ball and 2x3ball each day.

Last year we had 16 so fairly simple, we played greensomes, 4BBB and singles.

Not so simple this year with 3balls involved.

All suggestions gratefully received, thanks in advance.

secret teams?

add all 3 scores up for the 3 rounds at the end, and draw the teams.....

or secret matches each day... same but draw one from each team to 'play' one from the other team, but draw it after play.

Thanks Neil, but we're looking for more of a Ryder Cup style format. Just not sure how to go about it with 7 on each team and two 3balls each day.

The 3-balls could play "Split Six" with 2 from one team and 1 from the other while the 4-balls play 4BBB matchplay.

Not sure how many rounds that is but on the assumption its three i.e. one per day then :

Round 1 - 4BBB for the 4balls and Best Ball (2v1) for the 3 Balls (3 points)
Round 2 - 4BBB for the 4balls and Best Ball (2v1) for the 3 Balls (3 points) Changing players around from Round 1 if necessary.
Round 3 - Singles for everyone (7 points)

The Best Ball only works if everyone is WILLING to play 2v1 if they get "selected" to do so by their "Captain".

An alternative would be to make the 3 Balls Combined (Average) Stableford for the 3 players of each team.

Much of the fun of this sort of comp comes from the teams deciding who plays with whom, in which format and in what order. After that its the WAR ON THE SHORE! :whoo:

That sounds like a plan, many thanks LIG.

Also thought we could play as 3x4ball and 1x2ball each day, which will be the same amount of tee times.

Thanks again
