How much do you pay for your Club Competitions? We pay £1.50 for the comp and £1.50 (optional) for the 2's.
Club is proposing to raise Comp fees to £2.00 with the increase being used to help club funds!
How much do you pay and do you know how it is spent?

£2 for the comp, optional £1 for 2's.
I assume the bulk goes back into the prize fund ( so onto your pro shop account )
and a % to the clubs funds.

A fiver. My previous club, which I left just over a year ago is £4. Not sure how the money is split

£2 entry which includes a portion of that for sweep, nobody knows the true split....??
£1 optional pros 2s sweep

Used to be
£1 entry
£1 sweep
£1 2s sweep

Ours are £4 - believe they are made up of Comp- £2, Sweep- £1, Twos- £1 (optional)
Comp and twos money goes straight on the card and sweep money is paid in cash. I assume the cost of the trophies come out of the pot first although i'm not 100%

For a standard weekly medal its 2 quid for the comp and 2 quid for the 2's. For majors it's 3 quid for the comp.

As far as I am aware most of the comp money is paid out, and all the 2s money goes into pro shop accounts.

Ive had everything from £1.50 to £4 at clubs I have been a member of. £2 seems standard for the 2s sweep.

Bigger comps could be up to £7. Always been worth it.

Why do we need to have entry fees and prize money though?

Good question, suppose it's because us Golfers like to receive more than a cut for winning😃
Apparently some of our increase is being used to pay Greenkeepers overtime at weekends!

£2, with 50p going into the sweep. The sweep is paid out the following week to the winners, 1st, 2nd 3rd in some comps, division winners in others. I got £18 for the May Medal. The remaining £1.50 goes towards the main prizes on presentation night.

£5 for everything, £3 for the comp half going to the club for Trophy's and inscriptions etc on prize giving night. The other half to entrants.
£1 on the sweep and £1 for 2's. £2's money goes straight into your Pro Shop account and the sweep if you win any is collected from the Pro Shop.

Weekdays £2.50 plus £0.50 optional 2s.

Weekends £3.00 plus £1 optional 2s.

All 2s money is paid out. 80% of the comp fees is paid out with 20% to club funds.

£4 Comp, £1 2's.

We have good cash prizes for our comps, a lot of entrants and pretty tough par 3's so would imagine the 2's pot is fairly decent too. Will report back if I ever get a sniff! !

Having won £65 for winning the beazer homes division I think it's fair. Was a nice bonus but the cut was better, while it lasted!

Don't really care exactly where every £ goes, if I did I the club accounts are available on request.

£2 competition entry then 3 optional sweeps at £1 each for gross, nett and 2's Pointless entering the gross as there are several plus handicappers that regularly play medals.

The Pro also runs a raffle every Saturday for £1, decent prize each week such as a quality pair of shoes, stand bag, putter, wedge etc.

£3 for the comp £1 for 2s

Where does the money go? Easy enough to answer now its my responsibility lol

We pay out a portion to the winners and the rest goes to cover costs over the year. The main costs we have are the software system for handicapping, having the boards in the clubhouse updated, trophies and engraving plus a few other committee costs and some support for the club captain
