Basically looking for the holy Grail!

Planning on getting fitted over the next few weeks and i am looking for an iron set which covers all of above and really like the look of the Srixon 745/545.
Anyone else think of anything i should be looking at?

Look no further than 745's. Mine are on order, just waiting for them to arrive. Stunning looking club.

They look lovely- wouldn't imagine they would be very forgiving for my likes though

They are hollow, the short ones partly and the long ones very.... Just cavity backs with a cover over them. They do get pretty ugly in the long irons but very usable!

Don't think you can make a decision based on people's views on the forum. We all have different swing speeds, handicaps and so on. Best advice really is to go to your pro and see what he thinks might be suitable based on your own swing and goals, and then simply try as many brands as you can. Then you can see how they feel during your swing (light/heavy) through from 3-SW, how they feel on impact, the ball flight, learner/improver clubs etc etc etc. Once you find the clubs that suit and give you the confidence, go and get them fitted.

Might as well close the forum then....

I think Moff understands the process.... He is actually asking for something that does not exist and makes it clear he kinda knows that so its a chat about great looking irons with some forgiveness.

Have a look at callaway XR Pro. Compact head, go miles and look very nice too

my opinion Alex. kinda thought that was what the forum was all about?

Don't really want to get into you about it but your post was very Homer... you basically said nothing. "don't bother talking about it go and try some".... Well that is obvious and I am sure Moff was not about to take a poll of who suggests what and go order it. Its a talking point... The guy was clearly not at a shop with the clubs in front of him he was dream shopping, chatting with like-minded peeps who might give him and idea that gives him an idea.... Now that it what forums are for. Your right though, your "dont talk about it, go try some" advice as as valid as any.

Er...Isn't that indeed a (self) fitting? (Proper) fitting is not just the static measurement part - that's just the beginning!
'Once you find the clubs that suit and give you the confidence' - those are the ones to buy!

the new Ping 'i' looks to have potential.

what about Callaway Apex and Apex pro for forged or XR for combination metal.

Titleist AP2 714 (the new 716 doesnt look as good and even Speith ditched them to go back to the 714's)
