Following my post regarding my 4 under handicap 80 on Thursday, I was level to handicap at the turn this morning in cold and windy conditions. I then shot 8 straight pars and finished with a tap in birdie on 18 to come back 1 under gross, my first 9 ever under par, for a 6 over 77. The worst part was I could sense the banter slowing on the last few holes as the guys realised what was on.

Just can't stop smiling! Lessons and practice seem to be paying off - redundancy has its up side!

Yup, best ever by one shot. And I'm desparate for a comp - my goal of category two is obviously in sight, and I hope I can push on from there. Consistency will be key.

Well done mate, what a great feeling it is when you can see your lessons and hard work paying off on the course.

I played friday and yesterday, had 2 good rounds and ended up with 27 pts off 28hcap on both rounds. The winners had 32 on friday and 36 saturday.

I hit some cracking shots aswell as some poor shots, but at least i am improving and very confident i can compete with good players.

Keep up the good work mate

Well done pal,
Nothing beats the feeling of things coming together! :D
Me and my playing partner were in the pro's saturday "Jack Rabbit" last week, 4bbb, shot 46 points in only my 2nd ever comp and come off feeling great - even if it was only good enough for 3rd!!

What is the par or your course and the SSS?

Flandango - Done off the white tees, winter card from the mats, main greens, Par 71, SSS 71, 6113 yards. It's a measured course, so our winter comps do count for handicap (though this wasn't a comp). (Different to the summer when it's 6519)
