Whose your fave ?

Any that you look forward to seeing and ones you book tickets to see live ?

For me

I have seen John Bishop live twice - very funny

Jason Byrne live 4 times and is absolutely hilarious

Jason Manford was surprisingly funny

My wife got me tickets to see Kevin Bridges who I really can't wait to see - his DvD has me in stitches

Seen Sarah Millican on Dvd and was funny

Enjoy the guys on 8 out of 10 Cats

Old school - Mike Reid was bloody funny as was Billy Connolly

Guys I just don't find funny -

Frankie Boyle - just seems more shock tactics than anything
Andy Parsons - just not funny
Russell Howard -

Best ones for me live - Ross Noble & Jimmy Carr both seen several times

Would really like to go and see Eddie Izzard & Ricky Gervais

I saw Peter Kay and he was hilarious. Back many years ago Jim Davidson was the best joke teller ever but along with PC came a change of style that he wasn't good at and I thought he was crap the last time I saw him

I'm due to see Milton Jones soon, I ve liked his style on TV and just hope he's good on stage

Saw Ken Dodd about 20 years ago, a 3 hour show flew by and my sides ached afterwards. we won't see his like again.

Like Michael McIntyre a lot

Front row seats to see dara o briain earlier this year was side splittingly funny.

Huge Ricky Gervais fan, love his stuff, both his sitcoms/movies and his stand-up.

Have seen Lee Evans live and he was incredible. It was a warm-up gig for one of his big stand-up tours and he did almost 3 hours of new material, it was amazing. The guy's a machine. Also seen Russell Howard live, and before I watched him live I liked his stuff, but he was pretty awful live. Same recycled jokes from the tele, no new material, and only did about 40 minutes.

I'm also a big fan of US comedy, so love Joe Rogan, Bill Burr, Louis CK, and if you want to kill yourself laughing, get onto Youtube and search for Joey Diaz. The dude is absolutely hilarious. Tells THE greatest stories and has lived an insane life, amazing guy.

Seen live _

Very Funny - Ken Dodd, Ross Noble, Tim Vine, Peter Kay

Not Funny - Lee Mack (what a disapointment), Sarah Millican (expected and didn't disappoint), Billy Connelly (still traumatised that it was not the night of my life. Expectations were high, he just said the f word over and over and expected everyone to laugh)

Would like to see - Rhod Gilbert, Kevin Bridges

Don't Get and wouldn't pay money to see - Lee Evans, Ricky Gervais, pretty much every female comic except Jo Brand (too many to list so thought it was easier this way), Jimmy Carr

Dave Allen = Legend

Like a couple of you I saw Ken Dodd many years ago as my mother liked his singing and it was a treat for her. He was very very funny

I also saw Morcambe and Wise, the Two Ronnies, a Jasper Carrot, little and Large amongst others, and, whilst Eric an Ern were head and shoulders above the rest, they were all still very good live

Jimmy Carr, Milton Jones, Rhod Gilbert.... in fact there aren't many I don't like except Lee Evans, I just don't get him at all. I went to the same school as Jim Davidson (or Cameron Davidson as he was back then) although he'd been expelled by the time I got there.

Very funny; Marcus Brigstocke, Kev.I.N Bridges, Tim Vine and Jason Manford.
Funny; Ed Burne, Dara O'Brien, Ross Noble, Milton Jones.

Unfunny; Ricky Gervais (what is he for?), Jerry Sadowiz, Andy Osho and Shappi Corsandi.

Bloody awful; John Bishop, I am so glad that TV has finally ended that car crash affair it had with him.

Love comedy ..
Dara O Brian is brilliant but have to admit disappointed me a bit the twice ive seen him live .
Ardal O Hanlon was very good (Dougal off Fr Ted)

Would be a Fan of Jack Dee , Sarah Millican

3 i find very funny are Kevin Bridges & Omid Djalili (Google & watch this guy)& Of Course Michael Mcintyre {sp}

I just cannot watch Lee Evans at all for some reason

Two I should have added to the awful pile are McIntyre, Just why? Why dear lord? What did we do to deserve such pain?
Rhod "just bloody shouty" Gilbert. Calm down son, no need to shout all the time, we might understand a bit better if you don't bloody SHOUT ALL THE TIME!!!

One thing that puts me off a number of the modern comedians is the reliance on "the front row". For those who do not go to live comedy this is where the comic can't be bothered to write an hour + worth of material. They may have 45 minutes up their sleeve but the rest is dependent on asking questions of the front row. They then cross their fingers and hope someone has an amusing or interesting job and work off it. Rarely works in my experience and I think it is an absolute cop out, I feel cheated by it. Some are worse than others and have half their script from it. Lee Mack did this when I saw him and it absolutely didn't work. He had nothing to fall back on and so the night was flat. Rant over.

Tommy Tiernan is another that shouts alot . can be shocking funny at times & i loved his early stuff but went a bit big for the boots IMO

Stewart Lee is just about the only comedian alive that I'm interested in at the moment.

There aren't enough hours in the day for me to explain why I dislike Michael McIntyre, James Cordon, and pretty much every other big-time TV/circuit comedian around at the moment.

Saw a trailer for a new series last night called the "John Bishop Show" so you might want to miss that one :)

One bloke who gets on my wick is Harry Hill especially after the disaster that was "stars in their eyes"
