I've been wondering if anyone else like me collects clubs? I only really collect Scotty Cameron's but have a few now and I'm always on the lookout for more lol!

Anyone else?

.....everyone who plays golf, we just dont think of ourselves as collectors

I bought two old sets of mizuno blades. I made a bit of a mess reshafting one set. I plan to get them sorted in the future. will the ever be my actual irons for playing? I doubt it, I just like the look of them and will take them out for a spin every now and again.

if I see a mint 3rd set of them, I don't think ill be able to hold myself back! :o

I have an every growing putting collection. I like the idea of selecting a putter depending on my mood / green conditions.

Ive got a garage full of clubs.... some good, some v old I've an old set of proper old style woods and blades from the 70's, wedges and putters and a some old crap irons and even some nice mizzies mp53's which I bought off here and never used..... I lend mates stuff and never bother to ask for them back most of the time which keeps it to a limit. I just hoard stuff for no apparent reason! ;) I must have a clear out.....

I get it from my dad. it was not unusual for a couple of buckets in our garage full of old knackered and some decent clubs. I just started adding to it now ive got my own collection of ram-shackle clubs that I have no intention of getting rid of.

they all get a swing from time to time :o

After years of looking, I finally got my hands on a single club with my grandfathers (a club pro who died in the 1950s) name engraved on it. Don't need to collect any more!

I have a mint Wilson 8802 putter, which took my fancy 15-20yrs ago. I have some mizuno tp18s that I will reshaft when my ship comes in ( or sets sail!). I have lots of my old stuff but its not collectible it's just got sentimental value.

I've got a few bits and bobs and have a bit of a weakness for ex-demo Mizuno 6 irons.

If I won the lottery (which I won't as I don't do it ) I would have a room full of lovely old sets of MacGregor, Nicoll, John Letters, Spaldings, Wilsons etc from the 30s, 40s and 50's.

I would really love to have a go at refurbishing old clubs maybe as a retirement hobby.

We have a winner :D

if anyone has any of these ugly old pointy nosed wooden clubs I'll take them off your hands, saving you valuable storage space:smirk:

I used to have a decent hickory collection but sold them a couple of years ago, got a surprisingly good price in a dead market.
I have kept a couple of ones made by relatives, and a fairly rare Bullseye putter.
My grandfathers cousin was the first guy to patent steel shafts, they are on display at Baberton GC in Edinburgh.

In the 1990's a guy came into my office in Wiltshire and showed me a couple of clubs, one was made by my Uncle in Edinburgh early 50's and the other was a paliconna cane shafted wood. The cane shafts are very rare and were made at Alnick for two years only by two apprentices, one being the same uncle. Amazing coincidence. The guy was so pleased to find that the cane club was quite valuable he gifted me the other one [of no real value]to me.
