Hi gang- After a lot of debate, and much reading of past posts I see quite a few of you are Cobra fans.
Could you recommend me a good driver? I'd previously posted saying I liked Taylormade superquads but as I'm fairly new to the game have been watching a few on ebay as I don't think I'm good enough yet to justify buying "new"! :)
Which of the King Cobras would you suggest that are maybe similar to a superquad in terms of performance- I am thinking a high MOI (seems to be the buzz word )to help me out.
I am 33 years old, 6ft tall & about 13.5 stone with a swing like a wildcat... (well, I have an agressive swing) so wondered what options to try with loft/shaft etc.
I have a stiff flex 9.5* currently and have no problem getting it in the air other than a bit of a slice (although this IS improving) I am also thinking of going to a Cobra test centre? I think only then will I be able to put to bed this issue I have with driving- I wouldn't mind but my putting's nothing special! It's just something about driving the ball well thats got me by the short n' curlies... sorry.
Thanks again chaps- this forum has been a revelation!

I think to be fair you are being naive if you limit your choices to just these two. There are lots of decent drivers and shaft combinations out there from other premium brands like Callaway, Mizuno, Nike and Ping, through others like WIlson and Yonex to pretty decent gear at a very good price from MD golf, Benross etc.

I think you really need to find somewhere that has an extensive range across the board (or try local demo days) and see what is out there for your build and swing.

I like all the big makes...couldn't/wouldn't choose purely on name. I you want a cheap-ish buy, try and find an F speed cobra if you swing it fast.
Go for 10 or 11 degrees, you'll get a bit more carry than 9 or 9.5. I've seen the figures.

Any of the Cobra drivers are good, you should buy second hand initially or get some good guidance in buying new, there is a chance that you may not get on with them. As for Taylor Made, I dont know enough about them to comment, but Ive heard nothing negative.

I used to have the f speed in 12 degrees, great driver with the aldila shaft in. I now have the ft-5 which was fitted. The big difference was in the shaft.

This is really where you could do with finding out what suits you. Dont buy one with a rocket shaft! :D
