I ordered some Cobra Amp Cell irons on 2nd December through Golfbuyitonline.com after a custom fit session. I went into my local GolfBuyitonline store today and I was told today that I will not be getting my irons until "early part of January" is that acceptable? What can I do? What would you do in my situation?

when purchasing the irons I was told I could expect them in 7-14 working days...

January would make make it around 4 WEEKS!! I am fuming as these were my Christmas present off my parents!

Is there actually anything I can do? Any benefit in kicking up a fuss? I would appreciate anybody's advice! Thanks

If they said 14 working days then you are talking 3 weeks so add Xmas to that And 4 weeks is not that out of order

I agree with GB72 that it's only going to be a little outside the, clearly indicative, timescale given.

contractually you would have to read the small print, although how this helps you I don't know.

nope

relax, consider the reality of missed quality playing time then relax again

They're probably being shipped to you via one of the big carriers who have got thousands upon thousands of parcels stacked up in their depots and they're struggling to cope with it all as they do every Christmas. Although it's vitally important to you, you need to understand that one little package holds little importance to them in the great scheme of things. You're just going to have to be patient; you'll get your shiny new irons ... eventually.

It cant hurt to go in and talk to them in person (idealy when the shop is full of people) you might get a few freebies :P

after many years of having custom fit clubs, I find it normally takes around 4 weeks for them to arrive. Especially if you are having something exotic fitted in the way of shafts or grips, as they may need to be ordered in especially for you. Sit tight and wait, we all know what it is like waiting for your new shinies to arrive.

with the pants weather of late I dont think I would want to a)play golf or b) play golf with nice new clubs in wind, rain and probably a boggy course.

Give your old sticks a few last outings, use and abuse them like a one night stand and look forward to starting the new year with a set of shiny new bats

Really? This attitude stinks, just bad form. Not always the shops fault, after all they are the 3rd party in a transaction if they do not have in stock what is being purchased and then have to rely on which ever manufacturer delivering on time. See comments below.

It depends. If the pro doesn't have the clubs in stock then he'd have to order in and then you're at the mercy of the supplier anyway

If you're talking about the supplier as in the company doing the deliveries then I would suspect a coupe of days delay, due to the time of year and the number of parcels to be delivered.

However if you are talking about the company who produces the clubs, then there are good ones and bad ones. From experience Cleveland are pretty shoddy when it comes to customer service, I had a club repair and it was 3 weeks before they even picked it up from the shop and then another 10 days before they returned it. A mate bought a Cleveland wedge, but it was over 6weeks before Cleveland delivered it to the shop he bought it from. That said I have been told from a gentleman who runs his own golf shop, that PING are exceptional with their customer service.

It's not likely to be the shops fault and if Cobra are proving to be a popular club this Christmas then there may be a delay in manufacture and subsequent delivery.

Couple of imponderables in here though:
Was it Cobra or Golfbuyitonline that told you it would be 7-14 working days?
If it was a verbal quote is this timescale supported and quoted anywhere else on either company website? (or perhaps salesman patter)
Have you seen the physical order to confirm on what date Golfbuyitonline actually placed the order with Cobra?

hope you get them sooner rather than later

If its a custom fit chances are its the manufacturer that are making them, so going in to the shop probs wont do anything other than advising they can contact cobra.

Its an inconvenicence certainly but as with everything this time of year things take longer due to high demand and problems with shipping. You'll get the clubs eventually just wait for them and play with you current sticks in the mean time. Not the end of the world.

I can back this up about Ping, I won a putter (so it was not as if they had any money from me for it) from a mag, I gave the mag my preference on the Monday and the putter was in my hands on the Wednesday direct from Ping. Which is impressive, even more when you consider I am a lefty and I had a huge choice of putters to choose from.

Then again I got custom fitted at the Belfry for Cobras a few years ago and they turned up after 5 days.
