Having a look on YT last night, came across Rick Shiels' review of these. Seems an interesting idea (I know there is already a thread about these on here). I for one would love a combo set of 4/5/6 in the shorter length, 7-PW as normal length clubs. Would make it a far more easier game for me I feel. Anybody managed to try them yet?

Mike - I would love the set that you describe. That makes sense to me more than all clubs at 7 iron length.

If I was Cobra I would be having test days all over the country. Get people to try them, show them that they work. Convince the doubters. It would get interest, I'm sure.

I'd prefer the other way round, everything below 7 iron the same length, that extra spin would really help control at the greens. The point Rick brings up about the flight with the longer irons being lower and less spin would be an issue holding the longer irons on the greens

The GW Spin was insane. You'd be stopping your ball on a penny with full shots on the GW (and I imagine the PW too).

Sounds good to me, as I hit my long irons high enough anyway, a 4 iron holding the green doesn't happen to much with the guys I play with anyhow, I don't think theses are aimed at low hcpers

Back spin is what I see on the tv. Only ever got a ball to spin back 3 times, not counting winter when the ball splodges on a green from a great height, and they were all from bunkers. They just happened. High h/cappers don't need to worry about these clubs spinning or not because we don't have the skill to make these or other clubs create spin.

It is as relevant to me as whether the tyres on my car can go up to 130 or 140mph.

i watched this video at work last night. Interesting idea but just can't see myself changing. New golfers is the market they should focus on first

Popped into the pro shop at the course today. They don't stock Cobra stuff, but they did say they are going to get a demo set in for people to try. I think the point has already been mentioned in the reviews about demo clubs, they won't be able to be tested by people in the same way (usually 7 iron in places like AG), I would imagine places like AG will have to have a full set available to hit on their monitors or people aren't going to be convinced enough to buy them.

The pro wasn't sold on the idea of single length clubs, but was keen to try them, from the sounds of things they will be getting a full set in and people can go and play a round with them, apparently they aren't going to be available until mid to late January. I'll be putting my name down to try them, though I think I will take a lot of convincing.

Love the idea of these even though i hit my 4 and 5 iron well. Will hopefully get to try them over the winter. Im very tall so sometimes my pw feels like im using kids clubs. Having that loft at 7 iron length would be great.

One thing im not sure on is that my irons are 1 inch longer than standard. If every club was going to be 7 iron length then for me it would be ideal if they were all 6 iron length. Not sure if they will offer this for free given theyve had to change head weights etc to make them all 7 length.

Very positive review from Crossfield. Interesting how his one half bad shot was when he went down the shaft instead of trusting the design of the club. When he hit it full it worked well. He was very taken with them.

Sadly I find Crossfield in particular, and others to a degree only have nice things to say about most releases, primarily as it ensures future supplies of new releases from that manufacturer. I haven't seen the reviews yet but still not convinced by it all. It's an old concept and was tried in the 80's without ever taking off. Of course research and technology have changed hugely and I'd be interested to see what they have to offer the average player. Cobra have certainly been brave, and stolen a march, if it's shown that this sort of club does have positive, and lasting benefits

yeah it was available in the 80's but the knowledge now is far superior to then, and the only thing Cobra has stolen a march on is the other OEMs. Tom Wishon has had a set of single length clubs out for some period of time now, well before Dechambeau signed with cobra. It will be interesting what Edel bring out in single length?

AG said they were going to stock them on release. They do look interesting, I'd love a bash with them.

Hopefully my local AG will be gettin some in but I very much doubt it, one of the members at my club works for-em, I'll ask him next time a see him, problem I see is that 'Cobra' don't seem to have much of a dealer network going on which will be poor for promotion so could well be another one to fall by the wayside.

I myself am quite interested in having a bash, it's something I'd thought about long before I knew about the likes of 'Bryson DeChambeau' and the fact that single length irons actually existed as although I've been a Greenkeeper for the best part of 20yrs I'm actually quite new to golf having only started playing over the last 2-3yrs.
