So the F6+ is on the way and I may look to upgrade my woods at the end of the year and Cobra are at the top of my intriguing list. I just wondered if anyone tried the Fly Z+ and the King Pro? Just curious to know how they both fared for you.

I have used the King Pro Limited. Great driver! Sadly the TM M1 was a better fit for me.

One of the guys in our roll up still uses an old king cobra driver with the old green NV shaft in. Hits it miles, he went for a fitting down at St Andrews and tried it against all the other brands and none were an improvement on his old one.

Mind you he is off +1 and had been club champ a number of times.

Thanks Patrick that last bit of info was helpful context ;) it's my own fault I'm in this situation as I naively bought a driver that wasn't adjustable but it's set closed and that's causing me a few probs. ..

Interested to know why Cobra are top of the list? Nothing wrong with that of course just asking

i use a cobra amp cell,

bright pink ladies head mated to a blue oban stiff shaft, and when it behaves itself it goes a country mile.best so far with a slight wind behind 311 yds.twas an ebay find.

I have Fly Z + and its a cracking driver. Extremely forgiving off pretty much all the face (and I've used most of it).

Loft adjustability great and has a few draw bias lofts too if that's your thing.

Changed swing a bit over last 6 months and the flip zone came into its own. Had steep aoa so originally set forward to bring spin down. Now changed and moved back fwd to help get ball in the air.

Has some pretty good stock Aldila shafts too.

Was mygolfspy most wanted 2015, until the f6+ came out. Which should tell you all you need to about their product progression.

Give it a try, you might just like it!

Not that I'm a great advert with my driving, but I have a flyZ. They seem to have a massive head behind the ball giving you great confidence. As allready pointed out it was the most wanted in 2015 by my golf spy. Also they kind of proved purely on a COG basis that along with the G30 they had the best combination of forgiveness and distance. Which is what I need.

Add in the fact that you can pick them up for 180 notes new now then it is a great deal. And makes the new releases from TM, Callaway and Cobra itself look very expensive for I imagine minimal improvement. If any.

One of my mates bought an offset Cobra Fly Z (he tends to slice) driver earlier this year and hits the ball really well with it, probably about 20 yards further and straighter than with his previous driver.

Quite prolific on the release cycle, about 3 drivers each year for last few years now.

Will be good to see how low the fly z goes down as its just had quite a large price reduction in the US

Went to AG yesterday as the boy wanted to test drive a TM M1. By pure chance they had the tour van fitter in who gave him a shot. The boy is 15, 6' 7" and plays off 14 at the moment (should be single figures). Didn't get on with the M1 so well, despite trying a few different shafts, carry only about 200 yds rolling out to 230. Moved him onto a Flyz, and after a shaft change had him carrying 235+ rolling out to 275. Much tighter dispersion too. He tried a G30 too, which was marginally better than the TM, but still not as good as the Flyz. Upside of it is that even with the shaft upgrade, the Flyz came in at £179, which was £250 cheaper than the TM option......:ooo:

Has he fallen out of love with the Amp that quickly???

Yes and no. I bought that as a tester really to see how got on with a stiff shaft. He's on the cusp between regular and stiff, but I got a 9 degree as he was ballooning his G25. After yesterday's go on the track man, seems he still needs more than 9 degrees to get the stiff flex proper airborne.
