Feel gutted took our society to my course (Northwest National,Rainford)coz i had to finish in time to get to work and its local,i had to get off before last group finished and got phone call saying 2 cars had been broken into and 3 sets of clubs had been stolen:(

2 where from a hatchback which were on show and the other was from a saloon which were in the boot so the robbing little scroats must have been parked up watching and waiting then made their move while mates were in the club house.

1 says he is covered on his insurance but the other 2 aint and i just feel so gutted for them but all the lads are rallying around and making a little mix n match of gear so they can at least play in the meantime so just a warning to everyone to be vigilant around this area..

Thieves have been quite active over in Leicestershire too. Our course now employs a full time parking warden that patrols the car park to ward off thieves. I believe they are also installing CCTV.

Was rampant around the Dublin area couple years ago. Guys dressed as golfers so not to draw attention, walking into locker rooms and walking out with bags, etc. The internet has made it easy to sell on gear.

At my own club I often see bags left unattended for long periods outside locker room/pro shop. Very easy for someone to take a couple of clubs and slip them into their own bag unnoticed. I always put my clubs into car as quickly as possible after a round

It's a shame that it's come to this! I do the same now, as I just don't want to risk it.

Wow...

Mine are never out of my car (apart from cleaning or playing).. In the estate bit in full view....

May have to rethink that policy!!!!!!

One of them called his house insurer just on the off chance but he only had standard cover and the lady went onto to tell him that there was another policy if he had known about that would have covered him for belongings away from home and this would have covered his clubs..

My grandad who lives in Dublin has had two sets of clubs stolen out of his car in the past few years. It's a real shame and despicable thing to do as well

i live in the area and we got a letter from the police on Monday warning about thefts from cars as it is on the increase, did no on in the cafe were the guy who takes your money not see anything or did they park at the front.

I tend to leave the trolley by the 18th in view of the 19th before the wife picks me up (we're a one car family). I may need to be more careful. If I use my carry bag it's straight in the locker though. Touch wood we've been relatively lucky over the years

They parked in the carpark where we parked when you came down for a knock, the course was very busy so they had to park further down away from the cafe so i think they were sat in their vehicle just waiting coz as ive said 1 of the lads clubs where in his boot out of sight.
