Great, I have been told that my opposition in this weeks match is prone to club throwing, threatening to walk, and cursing when he plays his numerous bad shots. If you were put in that situation what would you do?

When you go to shake his hand before the match, grab him by the bollocks instead and advise him nicely that he'd better be on his best behaviour. :D

you mean you will be watching what he is doing???

Concentrate on your own game and beat him and if he moans and swears it will just make the win all the more better.

Wear a helmet! Let him get on with it...only downside is that it could be a short match and thus less golf for you this weekend ;) If it's really bad, speak to your Pro after.

This used to bother me but not any more.

When it happens, ignore it and carry on as normal with the knowledge that his game can't be as good in that state of mind.

As long as it's a match against someone I don't know and not a mate, I love it because I know my chances of winning have gone up loads.

If he starts complaining about how bad he's playing, agree with him,and make him feel worse!
Usually club throwers in full flight are already more than half beaten.

Shake his hand on the first tee and tell him about the guy who cursed and chucked his way round to a net 90 last week and say you are glad noone you are playing with this week is like that.
Should the nonsense start, as above, agree with everything he says! :D

a) Tell him on the tee that you've heard he's a big baby club thrower and everyone reckons he probably beats up women too.

b) When he throws a club tell him not only is his swing crap but he also throws like a girl.

Actually I don't mind swearing too much, Smiffy curses like a two-penny hooker and it makes me larf!! :)

Try and focus on your own game happy in the knowledge that the more he swears the better the state of the game is for you. I guess joking apart if it becomes an issue you'll have to say something but toherwise mention it to the committee if it affects the match in any way. I doubt it will.

If you come out of the blocks flying he might have chucked all his clubs away by the ninth and so you can get an early bath and a few beers in the clubhouse

He must expend so much energy throwing his clubs, etc that his game will suffer.
You're agianst him right?? Look at him, pity him and then nail him. Everytime you hit a good shot he'll be beating himself up even more. You'll be done and dusted by the 10th. You can then go back to the clubhouse and tell all your mates about it. :)
If it gets too out of hand and he's damaging the course then report him.. :o
