club comps

I have entered a few of our club comps,to find later that the comps where cancalled due to lack of members participating due to bad weather or others things,this obviously happens more in winter,i recently had a very good result in our winter league to find out later that it doesnt count as there wasnt enough people entered...is there a set number of enterants needed to make the competition count?or are there other influences ie number of winter greens etc?or what rules do others clubs use..?

There are criteria for making it a qualifying round - length of course releative to card, number of temps etc etc
But to make it a club comp the club can make its own rules as to numbers, length etc and to whether it goes ahead or not.
I don't think ours has any minimum numbers. I won a comp last year that only 8 entered. Still a win.

12 players seems to be the rule at mine.13 played on Saturday I think.
