OK another Club Champs thread. Hypothetical and just for fun (motivated in part by the 'Move the Open thread')

So your committee decide that under a reciprocal agreement your annual 2 day Club Champs will not be played at your own course

  1. Are you happy or unhappy & why?
  2. If you could choose, which course would you swap with & why?
  3. What type of course would you move from - to? i.e parkland to links

Like the idea... 36 holes played over 2 different courses, the 2nd round being on the home course. For logistics/practicality, I'd have the first round on a local course - maybe suggest to that club that they play their club champ the same way.

Type of courses; one parkland and one on a links.

Sounds good

I know what you mean. When I typed it I thought it would be an interesting/fun thread but actually the more I think on it maybe there's merit in clubs getting together for this type of thing (maybe some already do outwith club champs)

18 holes at Sunningdale followed by 18 on a links course

18 holes at Sunningdale followed by 18 on a links course

18 holes on Sunningdale (Old) followed by 18 holes on Sunningdale (New)!!!

I belonged to a Resort club with 2 courses for a while - they were 2 different styles and the last 36 of Club Champs was played on both - on the same day.

Interesting concept. It's very easy to become one dimensional just playing the same course all the time. Easy to end up with a club champion who is the best player on that course rather than the best player in the club.

Mixing types of course could be fun.....links/parkland for example.
