Club Championships, on a run of poor form.

36 holes tomorrow, and my recent play has been poor, 92 for net 80 in last week's medal, stuffed 6 & 4 in a 4BBB matchplay mid week, went to the range last night and nothing felt right. I just hope I've got all the cr@p out the way.

Scratch competition so I've got no chance of winning, just looking at it as two chances to get a handicap cut.
If I play <u>really</u> well (and a few others don't!) there's an outside chance of a top 16 place and entry into next year's scratch matchplay.

Read my post in the aaaarrrggggh thread. In the same boat as you. On my knees performance wise and confidence through the floor and I managed 39 points in 15 holes. Granted it wasn't medal play but don't let a few bad shots affect you. You know its in there so go out and relax and hopefully it'll come together for a cut

Sorry to hear about the bad run of form mate.

Agree with that.

You'll hit a bit of form all of a sudden then you'll wonder how you ever struggled.

Thanks for your comments but it didn't quite happen for me.

My morning round got off to a slow start but I'd pulled it back to one under handicap after the fifteenth, hit a good drive on 16 but then got greedy with my second and tried to chip between a tree and a bunker, didn't hit it hard enough and it bobbled around and into the bunker, two to get out (bunkers are killing me at the moment) and two putts for a double bogey.
Finished with an 85 for 73 net, one over handicap.

Afternnon round started better and was on handicao at the fifth, drove level with the green on short par 4 fifth and then took four stabs, one from gimmee distance! A run of three double bogeys after that and a horror on 13; pulled drive into conifers left, no shot so penalty drop that rolls into a hollow, get too ambitious with my 8 iron and try and carry a ditch, poor shot that bumps along and into ditch, go for broke with my 9 iron and top it out, wedge to fringe at back of green for 5, putt down and then two more for an 8!

90 for net 78.

The entry was pathetically low so a half decent second round might have seen me in the top 16 but no chance now.

Chipping and putting were poor, 34 & 35 putts with not many GIRs, but there were some devilish pin placings.
