This year I am planning to take 4 yr old nipper onto the course during social games. Hopefully it will fulfill 2 objectives - Childcare and maybe he might pick up some interest in the game.

He is unlikely to be able to walk 18 holes, so am thinking if I should attach a seat to the clicgear that he can ride on. Anyone used a clicgear seat?

Any other suggestion?

Yes they are okay but when the trolley has stopped, little fella may fall off when pushing.

I had a powacaddy seat which needed to extend to the ground to provide stability, would assume the clicgear is similar so doubt he could ride on it.

Perhaps you have stumbled on the next must have accessory, you could call it the 'rug rat'

I have a (just turned) 4 year old too, and have been contemplating taking him out with me once we get some fairer weather. My thought is to hire a buggy - unless the course considers it unsafe for a small boy (I reckon it would be fine, but you know how some places are with Health and Safety).

We've got a "twoo" seat for our bugaboo pram - basically a board and a seat which trails behind it for an older child to sit on. Clearly there's a market for something similar to be attached to a trolley.

I can't really see it been much fun taking a 4yr old tbh. Worrying every time you swing the club or some one shouts fore.

A friend and his 6-7 yr old play in our Par 3 course, so took my son for a walk there (along with his plastic putter). We watched them play and my lad tried some putting. He liked the idea of the walk and after 9 holes he was hungry and tired. So off to the club house for some food and telly.
He now thinks daddy goes for a walk in the morning followed by a meal and Cider and that golf is an easy game. (all downhill from here)
