Anyone got one? I've been getting itchy fingers for a while and 3, 3 putts in succession today has tipped the balance. I fancy the sub 30 type 10 model. Lovely looking club. So any reviews would be great, and if anyone knows of a stockist in the north west area? Ag will order one in but I wouldn't mind having a bash with one first.

Murph has a limited edition Gambler I think.

They look great putters.

You do realise the sub 30 name isn't a guarantee :D

Let me just get this right.

You had 3 successive 3-putts with the putter you've been using for some time.
You therefore think it's time for a change of putter (hardware).
So you think one that you have never even picked up will be an improvement - just because it looks nice!

But you 'wouldn't mind having a bash with one first'

Have I got that right?

Spot on! What's not to understand

Seriously though, I've been struggling for a while. I've even been seen practicing quite a bit.
Maybe I could get a lesson, but hey, who doesn't love a new putter...

After 41 putts on Sunday I spent 2hrs Monday and the same on Tuesday on the putting green and I'm all fixed.

It's the mechanic not the tools ;)

What's actually the issue, pace control?

yeah mainly, I've never been any good at lag putts over a certain distance. But lately even the mid-shortish one are letting me down. 3 putted twice within twelve feet today, with little or no break in them. Confidence at an all time low.

Grind through it mate, new sticks only cover old faults, see pm

Get someone to look at the technique. It's a quick fix and cheaper than a new putter. Nothing wrong with a shiny new flat stick and I've had more than I should have but I've come to realise that no matter what shape or model I have (and I've been through most), they won't work if the basics are wrong. Got rid (well down to my last 4 and trust me there were a LOT more) and just worked hard on holing out from 3-7 feet regularly and then on distance control

I struggled with my putting about 12 months ago - felt I wasn't getting the club face square enough so

Bought a new - the spider and bingo felt confident with it and improved massively my putting

So i believe a lot of putting comes from having confidence in your putter and stroke so if you want to try another putter and believe you will feel confident with it then away you go.

It's clear you have no confidence in the putter and a lesson won't change that IMO -

To respond to your original question - they are very nice putters. I've used the Sub 30 / 10 before. It was good. Another plus is that as they are maybe less desired than others sometimes you can get them cheapish!

I agree that putting is so much about confidence you really need to like the putter in your hand.

Ignore all the good sensible advice about lessons and practice!!!!
