Been humming and hawing for 2 seasons on my mish-mash wedges;

Mizuno MPT-10 56*
Mizuno MPT-11 56*
TM ATV 52*
Vokey 52*
Titleist tour 56*

nothing has been 'right for me' (and one of them is a shank magnet) but I like the look of the ATV and Mizzie head shapes, I like a straight-ish leading edge.

So the Cleveland 588 RTX wedge trade in deal has been extended so maybe time to have a 52* and 56* that match

so anyone played/own/comment on them?

I have CG15 wedges at the moment and I think they're great.

Tried out the Cleveland 588 RTX wedges when I saw the trade in deal as I'm a big fan of Cleveland kit generally, especially wedges, and although I preferred the 588 RTXs, there wasn't enough of a difference for me to be tempted into giving up clubs that I love already and spending an extra £100.

I'm sure someone will post that actually has them, there was a GM fitting recently, wasn't there?

Yep, I just got fitted for mine....I got the cavity back versions with gold spinner shafts. I've only played one round with them so take what I say at face value......but I love them. They feel solid and seem forgiving....and for one of the only times in my life I saw a ball pitch by the hole, take one skip and then stop dead. Amazing.

I love mine. You can get them on the auction site brand new for about £50 which will probably still be cheaper than the trade in offer.

I have cg15 in the bag at present but just bought a rtx myself best wedges IMO. I tried TM ztp and had a look a vokeys but went with refreshed cleeveland to replace original 588 and tour actions.

I have 2 588s, a 52 w/ 10bounce & 56 w/14bounce. They're great. The 52 is a perfect 80/90 yard full shot, and ideal for longer chip & runs. 56 is great for sand, rough and shorter bump and runs around the green. I'm toying with getting a 60 degree wedge too this year, so I can feel comfortable taking a full swing from only 50 / 60 yards out!

I've got two of the black 588 RTX's.

Really like them. The head's looked big at first but now a fan, particularly of my 58.

Colin, you saw me with my Ping's at Wentworth and if I'm being truthful would have preferred to have stuck with them and got the Ping Tour Gorge's but just couldn't afford them. The Cleveland's offer a top quality wedge at an affordable price and I'm more than happy with picking them up last year on the same offer.

Cheers Jim. there appears to be an RTX CB and ordinary one, the CB reminds me a bit of the Pings you had. Agreed about the PIng Gorge but I like the look of both.

wonder if AG or local pro would do a wedge fitting as its one of my weakest areas from 105yds and in and needs to be stronger

I own the original Cleveland 588 wedges and I love them. I prefer them to my old Titleist vokey's
so I can't fault Cleveland wedges.

I have four Cleveland 588 RTX wedges as per my signature, they are brilliant, very versatile, loads of spin, height, stopping power, lovely weight to them. I've no intention of changing them and if I were to, it would be something very very special in order for me to want to part with them.

I've got a 52* and a 56* 558 rtx.

Finally can chip from around the green with them.

If I can hit them well, anyone can! I've even got backspin with them, and that;s a first...

Thoroughly recommended.
