Looks are usually the first thing you have to get over in clubs, the 588 is quite classic in that respect. A shiny gloss black head, smaller headed, with very little to see as there are no top markings and a simple face with painted lines. A black Matriz Ozik Altus shaft is installed and gives the whole thing a great look.

The club sits great behind the ball, I can't see any offset and the smaller (than many hybrids) head gives a nice confidence when setting up. Flip hthe club over and you get to see the 'Gliderail' I'm guessing these are for straightening the club on the turf during the swing, but I don't look at the bottom of the club, so it bothers me not!

After hitting many many hybrids and many many more balls the 588 stood out for forgiveness and ball flight, generally a higher spinning combo I choose an 18* version that gives a nice mid-flight. Ball after ball flew on a great trajectory and off center hits didn't even seem affected much at all. Final choice was made when hitting from the semi rough around the edge of the grass range, the 588 (was it the Guiderails?) sliced through the grass and have just as consistent strikes as off the range turf.
