City break recommendations

Probably won't be having a proper holiday this year so looking at a city break or two with the mrs. Quite fancy Rome or Istanbul, maybe Reykjavic later in the year. Any other good recommendations aside from the obvious popular choices?

Second Bruges & Lisbon. When we did Bruges we took the Eurostar to Brussels & your Eurostar ticket covered the onward travel to Bruges, not sure if it's still the case.

I take it you'd consider Barcelona as an obvious one, same with Vienna? If not, then Barcelona & Vienna. If you do Barcelona, do the Camp Nou tour

Budapest, but probably not at the moment.

Berlin and Lisbon definitely worth a visit.

Munich is worth a shout, especially during Oktoberfest. Valletta in Malta absolutely worth a visit also.

Any of the big German cities will be good in the run up to Christmas. Stockholm and Bilbao get big thumbs up from me aswell

Two cities I've had recommended to me but not yet been also - Tallinn and Ljubljana

A slightly different one, Stockholm. Very pretty, interesting, alcohol is a scary price though ?

Not quite a city break, but you can fly to Verona from Gatwick. Then rent a car and be at lake Garda in less than an hour which is a beautiful part of the world.
