As my good lady is on the long road to recovery I have delegated the task of dressing the Christmas tree to my 7 year old grandaughter. My 11 year old g'son is helping me with the outdoor lights with the deal that he gets to go on the roof.

Wish me luck:o

Hope Missis DFT gets well soon, hope she is not recovering from putting up last years lights. A few years ago Missis T fell off one step putting up lights in garden and broke her ankle.

Mission accomplished remarkable successfully.
No children were killed in the making of these festive arts.

Mrs DfT showed amazing restraint whilst watching the proceedings........she is normally mrs bossyboots as far as Christmas is concerned.

Ps it is a bungalow!

Wishing Mrs Doon a speedy recovery.

Thanks, she has been amazingly brave.

Some radiotherapy at the Beatson after Christmas and that should be it.
Two separate cancer diagnoses within days of each other and two major ops within 5 weeks.
Mercifully both non aggressive so we are trying to work out if she has been lucky or unlucky.
She went into it with a sore frozen shoulder, had a bad fall when stepping over a baby [puppy] gate a few days after first op and currently has shingles.:o

Flippin eck Doon, she's had it rough. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. And you be careful too. 78(?) and going on the roof!

Wow. That's tough and so happy to hear that and hope that everything works out and that 2017 is a far better year for you and the good lady

Thanks Homer.

On the Christmas tree theme.
We drove over the hills to Newton Stewart for lunch today.
Before the forest there is a vast heather moor.
In the middle of this treeless moor is one Christmas tree sized Scots pine tree.
It must be at least 5 miles away from any form of human dwelling.

Every Christmas someone comes out and decorates it.....full bling tinsel/baubles etc.
One of my friends is a manager with the Forestry Commission, I think he is prime suspect.

Best wishes and God bless to your Mrs - I know where you are coming from and how you are feeling. But it's a good time of year for hope and love - and that is what Christmas brings us - and best of all - it's free.

Myself - going into loft later to get our tree down. Will leave decorating it to Mrs Hogan as she knows how to do it proper - I will just follow directions.
