I know there are some Prog fans on here who will be sorry to hear the sad news that Chris Squire has died.

A great bassist and singer who has given me many happy memories over the years.

My dream lineup of Yes reforming can never happen now but I've still got the albums.

RIP

Shame. You don't realise how old the bands I grew up with are getting. I still try and see Rick Wakeman whenever he gigs somewhere near

Though a Yes fan from back in the day, I never quite realised how core CS was to the 'Yessound' until I picked up his solo album Fish Out of Water a few months back. Brilliant. And there was I looking forward to picking up a ticket for next years Yes tour. Won't (can't) be the same without him :(

Would have to agree really. I bought FooW first time around and have always loved it. It wasn't just his ground-breaking bass playing either in Yes, but his harmonies against those of Jon Anderson and Steve Howe that gave the sound its richness.

Sadly later versions of the band weren't anything like the glory days of Chris, Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe but even they had the odd moment or two of brilliance now and again.

I think a Yes show without Chris is pretty much like a Yes show without Jon, so I won't be going again. Absolutely the end of an era for me.

I know I'm not around much any more, but I still lurk now and then...But had to comment on this - Absolutely gutted.

Glad I got to see him perform with YES last year on their triple album tour which was absolutely epic. We'll be (hopefully) going to the double album tour next year, but it won't be quite the same without Squire on bass.

Might go and listen to Roundabout for the millionth time.
