Chris Froome.

Watched the highlights and the way he blew contador away was unreal. The guy would leave wiggins well behind. No.1 rider in Sky no doubt about it.

What the hell is he made of?
He's just not normal.

Slime.
Lance certainly agrees that he's not normal. He posted a comment on twitter earlier about Froome. I didn't get a response when I tweeted back that in a few weeks, Froome would have more TdF wins than him.

Besides, no-one gives a stuff what a condemned drugs cheat piece of filth thinks anyway.

Such a sour, pathetic excuse for a man now he's been discovered. (LA, not Froome :D)

Fell asleep watching the highlights last night, so will look forward to Froome bossing it yesterday when I get home tonight. You get the impression that Froome felt he should have been the man last year and is extra determined to take the TdF this year because he wasn't given the chance last year. Hope he does it! Certainly looking strong at the minute.

Was a great finish the way he kicked on with 1km to go. They way he's riding when Wiggo finally returns from his self imposed injury exhile can't see how Sky can do anything but make Froome No.1 rider.

He's awesome and really hope he wins BUT life is more interesting with Brad around! Last year I felt Froome was the stronger rider and deliberately left Brad a couple of times just to prove it. I also felt he didn't give it everything in the Olympic road race for Cav and as a result just don't warm to him and have hardly watched a stage of the Tour this year. Mind you with the tennis and cricket and golf there's such a choice that without a firm favourite to follow in the Tour I'm just not quite so in to it.

There won't be room for them both in Team Sky next season that's for sure...

Think one will have to move to pasture's new...
But, which one would you keep?
Wouldn't like to be the one having to choose...

Would most likely keep Froome i'd have though as he is the man in form and they can say that since Brad's injuries its to much rick long term blah blah!

Personally Like Amanda much prefer Wiggo as he has personality and just think Froome isn't as much the team player as he made out last year. There was a lot of needle from him toward Wiggo, Team Sky & GB for not letting him be the lead man.

See he is having the delfect doping comments today which were inevitable in light of his win and the still recent Armstrong debacle.

I believe he's more of a team player than Wiggins.
Wiggins made his health issues the reason he's missed the tour, whereas I believe the real reason is that he didn't want to be one of Froome's helpers.
Just my opinion ........................ INCOMING!

I think that's entirely possible but not many tour winners would defend their title as a domestique. There was a row brewing as to who would be leader and perhaps Brad took the easy option for all concerned. His chest infection was genuine (imho) and had to impact on his preparation although less sure about the knee injury that followed. I thought Froome's press conference comments following Brad's withdrawal were a bit barbed "we'll miss his engine in the team supporting me" etc...dunno...something about Froome I find hard to like BUT would want him to win the tour as he is an awesome athlete and deserves it.

Froome and Wiggo did not get on personally. You could tell that by the way their partners had a Twitter ding dong at the time, plus reading interviews since it's pretty clear. As someone has said, Froome knew he could have won it last year if the roles were reversed and Wiggo was to support him.

Sky now see Froome as someone who can boss the tour for several years as he is a bit of a freak and can climb and time trail extremely well. Plus Sky will have the financial fire power to recruit the best domestiques to ensure he do what he did yesterday. Without Richie Porte and I think it was Stannard he would not have been able to do what he did yesterday, in the same way that without Froome Wiggo would not have won the year before.

I've been in love with the TDF for years now but my love of it was being stretched to breaking point by all the drugs. And I firmly believe that there are still some drugs cheats out there now. I was speaking to a guy in our Paris office today and he was saying some French papers and cycling commentators are making oblique references to Froome and drugs. But I think a lot of that is down to sour grapes as the Rosbif took the most iconic stage on the 100th tour in such a dominant fashion, and the French may not even win a stage this year for the first time in ages.

But the one bad thing that could come out of Sky and Froome's dominance is that others may take the risk of doping as they know they will never beat them clean. Because of the involvement of Sky and David Brailsford I do believe thet Sky are clean. If not condoning it, then the team needs to at least turn a blind eye to doping, and I just can not see Sky and Dave Brailsford doing that as he would have so much to lose. I also think the Sky corporation would not allow it to happen as it would severely ruin their reputation and I am guessing there are a lot of contractual things in place to try and prevent it happening. But having said that, if it came out that they were doping it would not be as shocking as Lance's was, as there is such an atmosphere of mistrust now.

Definitely prefer Froome to Wiggins. In my mind Froome is a better team player and has the nicer personality. Wiggins always seemed to come off as a bit up himself.

I have no doubt that Froome would have left Wiggins for dead on Mont Ventoux the other day if he had been there and on another team.

I agree, Wiggins would have struggled to win the Tour this year, regardless of who he had in his team, as the course is much tougher, from a climbing perspective, than last year. He wouldn't be able to live with the pace of Quintana, Froome etc when they accelerate on the climbs. He is a good endurance rider on the mountains, just not explosive.

Froome looks a great rider, rare to get someone as good on the climbs as he is with the TT ability also. Will be tough to beat from here.

Froome earned his shot as team leader this year. Last year he was still breaking through, wiggins was established team leader and in the yellow jersey, best tt'er in the race in a tour with lots of tt kms. You don't switch your team leader in that scenario, why would you?
Wiggins proved his class when he bossed the final tt. Lets not forget he smashed Froome (and the rest of the field) in the tt's.
Froome, and more obviously his fiancée, smacked of sour grapes last year. He wasn't there to be leader and he shouldn't have expected to be promoted above sir brad especially not when wiggo had yellow. Was very petulant. Yes he could have won it, he came second behind Brad so that much is obvious. But it was wiggins' year. This year (and future years) is froome's year.
This year he is a deserved team leader and favourite. I hope he continues to smash it and wins, lots of hard stages to come so let's not anoint him champ just yet.

Loving the Tour de France this year.
I loved watching Wiggo last year, however I am disappointed he hasn't helped Froome this
year[just like he said he would].
Froome is different class to the field this year.
Just a quicky for Cav as well.
The greatest sprinter the tour has ever seen.
Also this year hes showing also hes a great cyclist.

He isn't the only one, in the press conference after the last stage all Froome got was questions about drugs, they were basically accusing him of being a cheat and a liar without actually saying it.

The only way Froome doesn't win this tour is if his team continue dropping like the have done the first two weeks. He has a talented bunch around him, but not a lot of them left. If he loses many more and Contador's team start pressing, things could get a bit squeaky bum.
