Chipping / Pitching practise messed up your grip?

Ive practised a lot of chipping and pitching a while ago and found it altered my grip on the club. Closing the face somewhat and causing hook.
It made me hit more of a fade swing to compensate. I guess changing my swing to compensate helped me learn the draw / fade shot making. With this I can get round it fine but it's taken me a while to work out! I also am not as accurate as I used to be. More practice required....
Anyone else had any similar dilemmas?

I don't practice at all anymore. Used to. I have a very large garden and can hit full shots from one end to the other. Found i don't focus as i should so don't bother. Rather play tbh, only time i hit more that 3 balls in a row would be during a lesson. not had one of those since last summer;(

My pro is talking about weakening my grip for chipping and bunker play but we'll find out when I have my short game lesson on the 27th. I've a strong grip and apparently it isn't doing me any favours trying to release the club in the sand or on my chips
