As you'll know my short game has been a real headache recently and despite a lesson which brought about a short term recovery, the longer term prognosis was still unstable.

I dug out my V-Easy last night and I'd like to thank Saint Bob for his vision and foresight in inventing it. I took it to the putting green this morning. I was great using it but then fell back into old habits as soon as I took it away. However by adjusting my set up and really focussing on the rocking motion the V-Easy insigates I'm back to chipping much better.

I have put a more detailed post onto my blog and if you are a newbie on here and wonder what all these regular references are to Bob and his putting aid it'll make it a whole lot clearer. If you are a fellow poor chipper I hope the entry will give you the inspiration you need to go out and get better too

No - it must be good. My club pro has got one now and he NEVER has training aids. My regular teaching pro has one and I've got a few of the teaching pros at the two ranges I use interested. I'll give them Graham's flyers for improve my golf and see what happens.

After today an hour or so per week to get some sort of retention of the set up position and get the action sorted and I think it might be OK. If I can't chip by the end of April it'll definitely do for the veg patch

Hoping to finish early and get an hour on the chipping green and see if I can finally put my chipping woes to bed. Then I can concentrate on the putting (and the driving, bunkers, irons, pitching....)

I'm glad it's helping Homer.
Dont forget, its only the short chips from off the edge where you need to keep your wrists firm. Any longer and you can use a bit of wrist hinge.
Also, I've had most success with sweet peas.
102 uses for the V-Easy :)

Have the first medal next Sunday so got stuck into some serious shot game practice over the weekend.

Was doing some 50y pitches on Sat and out of no where started shanking them!! Shooting nearly straight left (am a leftie). Couldn't stop it for about 10/ 12 shots. Got so worried that left and went to the putting green.

Went again yesterday and started some chips from just off the green and then buker shots and then back to 50y chips. Was a bit worried but luckly enough no shanks.

Over all did feel very rusty and didn't have the usual confidence that I have in the summer when playing a lot. Was starting to come though, especially yesterday so planing another session next Sat and maybe another before the medal on Sun.

Got the shanks last year hitting little knock down pw's. turns out I was standing too open. Anyway I was talking to teaching pro, who put me right, also he suggested if it happens on the range, to conciously try to hit a shank, turns out it is very difficult to do when you try. Now if it happens I just laugh and check my feet!

I dug out my V-Easy last night

Not growing runner beans up it this year then?
