Hi all,Myself and 2 others are looking to play an away course on the 17th of this month which is a Monday. We live on Anglesey in North Wales and looking to play in the Cheshire area. Could anyone recommend a nice parkland/heathland golf course? Looking to pay around £30-£35 each for 18 holes. Thanks

drop me a PM mate, I can have a word with a friend who works on Wychwood Park near Crewe! I'll see what rate I can do for you.

Lovely course!

Alterrnatively for that sort of price I could recommend a few around here. If you're wanting to play more towards the welsh border then there's a few tracks round that way that are nice. Vicars Cross is a decent track and the Cheshire Course at Carden Park is a nice place but may be slightly above that rate.

Portal's courses aren't too bad either and then Vale Royal Abbey is a new favourite of mine which you can normally get good rates for.

Sent you a PM mate. We can play the Nicklaus Course or Cheshire course at Carden Park for £29 each, which is the best out of the two would you say?

IMO the Cheshire is a lot better than the Nicklaus.... good set up, but there are a lot more better options if your travelling this way, away fro the resort style hotel courses I would look at:

Delamere
Sandiway
Warrington
Lymm (my gaff)
Mere

You also have the courses on the Merseyside Coast that may be worth a look, but also maybe more than £35....

+1

If your members of a course, you could also check out golf empire for any opens, but Monday isnt the most popular of days.

I much prefer the Nicklaus course at Carden over the Cheshire course.

As said there's much better courses in Cheshire that are well worth a look.

Certainly Delamere, I haven't played Sandiway but it has a great reputation. Warrington and Mere are nice enough but not a patch on Delamere.
Sorry Karl but Lymm isn't in the same bracket as the others you mentioned.

Delamere, Sandiway and Dunham Forest are my favourites. Dunham Forest do 2 fore 1 deals on some days also.

Ive not played Prestbury, Wilmslow or Stockport but they are supposed to be really great.

Where you are in North Wales, you should also consider the Wirral. Wallasey, Caldy, Heswall are really good but may be a bit above the budget you state.

100% won't get near Delamere or Sandiway for £30-£35. I much prefer the Cheshire to the Nicklaus. Both totally different courses though & both a good challenge.

Delamere do a twilight in the summer for £40 from 4.00, whether they do it for earlier at this time of year, not sure.

I agree with you, but, given the OP's budget, Sandiway, Delamere and Mere (unless you get a deal) are probably stretching it. Wilmslow and Prestbury would probably be more than £30 too. Warrington, Lymm, Wychwood, and Carden Park would be good options for him.

I agree about Delamere and Sandiway Lou, they are a class above. Just a personal opinion, but I think Lymm is on par with Warrington....

Edit... I would take up Huds offer and go to Manchester
