Passion, commitment, guts. Not three words I would have described about my team this season. Last night however was different. Not brilliant flowing football but that was never going to get them to progress against an italian team in europe.

This was with the same group of players that did not perform for AVB. I think this shows what they thought of him. Was is right. No.

On a sour note, the old Drogba returned. Falling as if shot, with an alleged elbow to the face. Not once but thrice. Each time the arm did not touch him. One time the camera caught the 'I conned the referee look'.
A cheat. It is no good for the game. Deserves a 10 game ban in my opinion. This might stamp out this Cheating.

Well done the blues.

Fixed that for you.

Great result but an utter *** of a footballer.

Sums up the match perfectly - really enjoyed it but reminded me why I turned to egg chasers as footballers are such bare faced cheats and liars that it beggars belief. Has Drogba no shame??

Player power is never a good thing though and they should be ashamed that they let the fans down during the reign of bish bosh (I always hear that when his name is said)!

Loved seeing Di Matteo so excited although he about knocked the less than excited Torres off his feet.

Very good result, the Italian teams must think that us English teams are never beaten.

Istanbul, Arsenal last week (nearly, but still won the game), last night. I'm sure there are others also.

I was very impressed with Chelsea.
All has been said.
One thing i have noticed about Torres, obviously his confidence is low.
But hes started to work a lot harder, chasing, harrasing etc.
But surely hes got to start scoring,50 milion for a harrasing midfielder?
As for Drogba he was awsome last night, strong, great goal, great set up for the winner.
But diving and fiegning injury deserves a ban and until someone at the FA grows some balls
it will continue.

Players should be ashamed of themselves .. not for last night but for the games leading up to it , did they think of the club or the fans that they represent & get paid by when they werent trying ? the same fans they were lording it up to last night ? like hell they did , we dont want AVB here so we wont play as well , we will get him sacked ,, , muppets , ........ ok some will say AVB didnt pick the correct team , its not the results im questioning it the effort ,the will to win , PROFESSIONALISM

Terry also seemed to be telling RDM what the best formation was last night when he went off & word is (not sure how true) he is giving the team talks etc ..

Chelsea was there before JT, FL , DD etc & will be there long after them , over paid spoiled primadonnas the lot of them .. & im not just having a go at Chelsea aloto of clubs have sufferd the same fate ..

I am in no way a chelsea supporter but being an english team in europe I was glad they got through, how ever I fully expected them to. At home I thought they would win it 2-0 it was just a surprise they went to sleep after scoring a 2nd which made it more interesting to watch.

The problem is AVB is a young manager, chelsea is full of older players, they were never going to respect him in that way being top paid players. Then the players coming in were always going to follow what the older guys do some it is a shame that this happened but it does.

Great display by Chelsea last night, plenty of spirit unlike spineless ManU who are being given another footballing lesson and a doing from Spains 5th team.
Come on SAF, sort this shadow of a team out.
Commentary team are going on about upcoming big games in Premiership like Wolves as if UEFA cup means nothing, ridiculous. Learn how to lose with some grace.

I was absolutely appalled at Drogba's antics last night. He's a cheat, pure and simple and should be dealt with accordingly.
What punishment should be levelled at him? Well, in golf as we all know, if you cheat then you're disqualified. The same should exist in footballing terms. The replays showed that absolutely NO contact was made so, today, the FA or UEFA should hit him with a fitting punishment. I believe that as the game is a team game then the whole team be disqualified. I know it's harsh but it would soon stamp out the cheating that seems ever more present in top flight games.
A dreadful advert for the game last night - the message to the footballers of tomorrow is that cheats prosper.

Great result for Chelsea though!

Those plastic flags where a match for their plastic support.

It's a shame them players didn't show the same commitment and passion when Boas was in charge, they might not have been in this position.

The highlight was Drogba's antics.

From unstoppable man mountain, brushing defenders off at ease, to a quivvering little pansy blown over by the turbulance from a passing wasp.

If only he was 25, Chelsea wouldn't be so badly off. As it is they'll never replace a striker that complete. Awesome player.

Good to see Fulham Reserves doing well. The funny thing is if they get an OK draw they could make the semi and if Bayern get Barca or Madird and so one of the big names go out who knows what could happen. I don't think it'll pan out like that but I'll support any English side (yes even Chelsea) in Europe. Seeing as both Manc clubs are on the way out there isn't much choice left
