Cheeky theiving *****...

I feel a rant coming on....

Last year i lost the head cover for my (then) new Odyssey two-ball white hot putter while playing on the course at Mearns Castle Golf Academy. After walking back the two holes i had played without seeing the thing again i considered it lost, never to be seen again.

Over the next coming weeks i regularly asked behind the main desk if i had been handed in, left my contact details, mentioned it to the guys working there etc etc...other than putting Missing Posters around town, i tried everything...

Eventually bought cheepo cover which lasted about 5mins before falling apart and so decided to buy another Odyssey cover from the shop in Mearns Castle recently.

"Sure" the chap said, "we have one left from last season, yours for £15"...bloody marvellous i thought so shelled out and took new cover home...

I've now just had a look at the ball marker which stays in cover...only to find a different marker than the original Odyssey one...IT WAS MY "LUCKY" MARKER THAT I PUT IN WHEN I BOUGHT THE PUTTER IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!

Spoke to the shop manager who was completely useless and has refused to refund my money as no "Proof" of my claims as i didn't realise until i had left the shop.

Theiving **** bas........

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

Outrageous.

He SOLD you the putter cover you lost on the course previously.

Write, explain you are in no doubt this was your old head cover and get heavy.

Never heard cheek like it. The decent and honest thing to do would be to say...."wow, that's incredible, as we must have come by it by some freaky means, please collect your £15 as clearly we never bought it off Odyssey"

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

You've been nobbled by a canny Scotsman. Get over it.

Boycott the shop and driving range from now on and head up to the all new singing and dancing complex at East Kilbride.

What the hell is that all about? Do you mean that if you are a scot that its ok to rip off an englishman? Or are you telling us that all sotsmen are "*****" at heart?

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

I would write to the committee and request the pro be asked if he is selling lost and found equipment. I would also threaten him with the police if he refuses to budge. Nabbit, where did The craw say it was okay to rip of an Englishman???? From what I can see the original poster comes from the west of Scotland too.

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

I heard a similar story about a visiting golfer to a club, left behind a rather loud pair of golf shoes in the changing room.
When he returned, he checked but to no avail. The next time he played he saw someone wearing his shoes which he apparently bought from the pro shop.
Naughty

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

Want to hear a defence for theft?

A person shall not be guilty of theft if he/she has the upheld and honest belief that he/she has a right in law to that property.

Make of that what you will, but I know exactly what I would be doing.

Re: Cheeky theiving gypos...

Guys can we please refrain from using the G-word that was in the original post title, like it or not,(agree or not) its actually racist and not a good image for the board or mag.

Have edited out all the ones previously posted but anymore and the thread will be pulled.

Thanks in advance.
