Cheapy laser rangefinder?

My Bushnell X500 was about £60 secondhand, and I find it to be very accurate. Only used it once or twice, but it's very quick and easy to get the distance to something. I was going to sell it, but after using it decided it was very useful, especially on courses I don't know.

Struggles a bit when the distances get higher. Over 200 yards or so the target has to be fairly substantial to get a lock. If I can't lock onto the pin, I choose a nearby tree, or perhaps a person on the green, to get the yardage. Not a problem when the green is below you, but for level or raised greens it can be a real issue.

I bought a longridge one that was about £95 but it was hopeless so I decided you get what you pay for and bought a Bushnell Tour v2 for £195 which is a very good bit of kit.

If you can pick one up cheap off ebay I'd highly recommend it.

Good points, well made.

More reasons why I went SC2.5 route :)
