After my last post regarding my damp smelly golf shoes. I have deceided to nip it in the bud and just buy some new shoes.

I foolishly tried talc before I was advised on here not too, and sure enough when I got back from work that day, a sticky paste was awaiting (still damp and smelly). I have also tried some odour eater insoles without much success.

Maybe I was expecting too much from a cheap pair in the sales, so time for a new pair as i don't want a winter of cold damp and smelly feet/shoes.

The ones I've got my eye on are:-

Nike vintage saddle 2 (£39.99) - http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-vintage-saddle-ii-mens-golf-shoes-281011?colcode=28101130
Footjoy softjoy (£43.99) - http://www.sportsdirect.com/footjoy-softjoy-pp-mens-golf-shoes-284043?colcode=28404331
Footjoty aqualite (£49.99) - http://www.sportsdirect.com/footjoy-aqualite-pp-mens-golf-shoes-284044?colcode=28404430
Nike Lunar saddle (£56.99) - http://www.sportsdirect.com/nike-lunar-saddle-mens-golf-shoes-281014

Has anyone had any bad experiences with the above with regards to waterproof(ness) and durability?

Cheers.

Long thread on here the other day with people having waterproof issues with recently purchased footjoys. My regular playing partner returned his <1year old Footjoy AQLs after he got soaked on the first wet round of the autumn. He now has adizeros.
Heard nothing but praise for Nike lunar golf shoes.

I bought a pair of cheaper Nike's last year specifically for winter golf, they were under £40 and have been absolutely fine in the wet.

I have just bought the Nike Vintage Saddle 2 shoes from SD so hopefully will be good through the winter. The fit on them on my feet were better than my FJ Sport.

My buddy still has the "cheapy" adidas golf shoes he bought from sports direct when we first started 18 months ago and he says they're fine, in proper rain he gets mildly wet feet but in normal circumstances they're perfect

I have used Footjoy Greenjoys for the past two years (Fooyjoy's cheapest option) and not had the slightest problem, even during last year's monsoon.

I've always found you very much get what you pay for when it comes to golf shoes, but as a tall fella I tend to be heavy on them.

Previously I've sworn by Footjoy, but have found they rarely last me much more than a year. On the last occasion they split whilst still under warranty the customer service was less than impressive, which surprised me as I have had a few pairs replaced without question. But the last time they virtually accused me of "force drying" them and refused to budge. It was only because my pro was a good mate with a rep that I got a new pair.

So, whilst I have always worn AQL's (and I'll be honest, they have never been 100% waterproof), I'm now wearing Adizeros. Comfortable as slippers and completely waterproof.
