Cheap Golf Shoes

Got a set of Footjoy DNA's for my Christmas but have decided I am only going to use them on competition days or if I am away for a golfing trip rather than use them for everyday games at my local course

Anyone got any idea if any sites have good promotions on golf shoes in January sales? Looking to spend up to about £40 so it's just a cheap pair I am after.

Thought I would check of here for any recommendations before checking every golf retailer site online.
 
Clubhouse golf are as good as anyone or you could also try Sports Direct website.

But why are you only wearing your shoes on certain days??

EBAY EBAY EBAY - At present I am using a bargain pair I bought 4 months ago. To be honest they aren't great, but they don't rub, and my feet are reasonably dry. I did however haggle with a seller on ebay and bought a pair of footjoy softjoys for £15.80 (yes, £15.80 NEW). They look beautiful, and feel like slippers. The problem is that I won't wear them until it dries out a bit. I have also bought a pair of dunlop golf trainers for the summer. Full price is £40, but the owner wore them on the driving range once and found them to be too big. £10 in absolute mint condition, brilliant.
 
In the Summer I tend to play 3-4 rounds a week and the heels don't seem to last long on any golf shoes I have had in the last 5 years, after paying a bit extra for the DNA's I want to make sure I get a few years out of them so I will buy a cheap pair for using during the week and keep the DNA's for competitions

if the heels are wearing out its likely your shoes are slipping slightly (because they are too big), worth trying to add some insoles to make them a tighter fit and stop the slipping.

Alternatively a strip of electrical tape inside each heel

Yikes. If I was playing that much I would be looking to buy the best pair I could afford to take care of my feet, not doing the opposite :eek:
 
Buy another pair of DNAs and rotate them. Each shoe will have a longer life by having a rest. Your feet will feel better being in quality shoes.
I had heel wear problem on some Adidas and callaways. I believe it was because they had a training shoe type cloth heel. I bought foot joy contours that have a smooth leather like feel at the heel. I've had no problems at all. I bought the 1st pair 18 months ago and another pair to rotate them (I play twice a week) 9 months ago and both pairs still in very good condition, including being waterproof.
 
CPW (cost per wear) old chap, cheap shoes are generally just that, buy a decent pair, look after them and they should last you longer. CPW, simples.
 
Footjoy Dna at golf support £98.75. Not sure how much they normally are but not a bad idea to rotate them.
 
Just because shoes are cheap it does not mean poor quality, just buy models that are a year or more old. My Nike Tour Premiums are very high end and cost £40 new, my Adizeros ones were £12. The bargains are there, just need to snap them up when you see them. 2016 ranges are being announced so 2015 models will go down to nearly half price
 
Agree with the above, there are cheap shoes (ie poorly made, with terrible materials that will fall apart .... and then there are shoes that are cheap, last years shoes heavily discounted)

Definitely wearing heals are because you don't have the right size!

American Golf are selling the Adidas Boost for just £69 at the moment!
 
Re the OP. I do a similar thing with my shoes.

White puma cell fusions which I use from the mid-end of Spring through to end of the summer / first couple of weeks of autum. Then I have a pair of black six spike adizero for the wet weather.

The cell fusions are 3 seasons old, and the adizero are half way through the their forth season.

Cell fusions, RRP £140 when they come out, just as they launched the new model I paid £70

Adizero six spike, RRP was around £60-70 when they come out. I paid £30

Ebay is certainly the place to buy high quality ones at bargain prices - especially if, like me, you have no aversion to them being pre-worn. Previous model clearouts are also available there, but often are priced/go for more than you can get them in real store clearouts.

Silvermere used to be my best source for new ones - in their New Year Sale, but were disappointing for a few years and I have gone the Ebay Used route now.

As others have stated, saving premium shoes for 'special occasions' doesn't make sense to me. Like buying because they are waterproof, but not using them if the ground is wet! I have several (mistreated) pairs of Ecco Goretex ones that I rotate that are all still pristine and ultra comfortable. I think the most I paid was just over £40!
