Charl....

Fantastic finish, to birdie the last four to win your first major, quality.

Have to agree. Top quality golf.
Let's not forget the Japanese amateur too.
Hideki Matsuyama. What a tournament he had bearing in mind all the troubles he had left behind him at home.
Brilliant play by the youngster

No-one forgets who won the Masters, it's the easiest tournament in golf to remember who won going way back.
If Rory had blown it over the last 4 or 5 holes it would have been different but the tv cameras gave up on him after 10 holes and focussed on the contenders so it won't be remembered for him losing.
Last 2 hours was great, very impressed with both Charl and Jason Day, glad old broomhandle Scott didn't do it.
Rory's recent stupid comments about short game not being important have jumped up to bite him, despite the trouble on 10 if he had chipped and putted better yesterday he'd have won or been right in there at the end.

As previously stated, in a few months time everyone will have forgotten who won, but only remember Rory's collapse down the back 9.

Unfair.Maybe people with a passing interest in the game will forget, but people who play and follow the sport will remember the winner and his 4 birdies up the straight.Outstanding golf.

I'll also remember that if Lee Westwood could putt remotely well he would have won a green jacket this weekend.

I actually got bored and turned it off once Luke couldn't win it, none of the golfers that were left in it did anything for me, didn't care which one won

If I'd managed to stay awake, this probably would have been my reaction.

I thought it was great, as until the final couple of holes, you didn't know who would win. I'd rather that than a boring procession where it is obvious early on who will win, even if it is one of my favourites (not Luke Donald, as I find him tediously dull).

I understand it was just there was no golfer I have any interest in at the top once Rory Luke and Tiger were out, the others are all the same one was going to win in didn't make a difference

I thought it was a pretty good last day all in all. I am pleased for Shwartzel. He did what was required and the last four holes were played brilliantly in the face of some tough fighting by the other guys. Sorry for Donald (shame about that double) and to be fair would have thought any of them including Woods would have been a worthy winner. Charl is still young and so it may given him the kick to go on an win or at least contend in a few mor emajors

Yep, I turned it off once Luke Donald took 5 at 17 and Adam Scott stiffed it at 16!! Mainly due to the fact that I was knackered after 2 days on the beer and Jamesons!! So I was gobsmacked when I woke up this morning and found out the actual result!! Does anyone else think that, because of the strength of the mens game, we're going to see a lot more 1-time only major winners? Granted he played brilliantly but always classed Schwartzl as being a rung or two below the top tier of the game.

I actually think Charl will win more majors. His golf has been very very good for the past year and a bit and I honestly think he will contend in a number of majors and even win a couple. His swing holds up well under pressure and his short game is very good.

I'b be surprised if he didn't win another major.

In fact he's inspired me so much I'm considering going full out Nike!
