Hi All

I'm new to the forum as this is my first post,

I'm posting to ask advice on organising a charity golf day, I'm struggling to drum up interest in players and involvement of prizes and sponsorship. Does anyone have any advice that would help, anywhere that I could promote the event? I'm running out of time as the event is on 19th of September.

Thanks in advance

You could try getting in touch with golf empire, who list all sorts of "opens", but also have a separate criteria for charity days.

www.golfempire.co.uk

You could also say which course its at, when, format etc in the arrange a game section on here, might get the ball rolling.

Good luck.

BTW Where is it and what charity?

Approaching local clubs to see if they will give a voucher for a 4 ball of golf is worth a try.
It doesn't really cost the club anything and can be worth a fair bit as a prize

Thanks for the replies, I've contacted a few clubs already but unfortunately no replies yet.

It's at the Warwickshire golf club and the Charity is a local Coventry charity called Bethany's Wish who help children who as coping with cancer, they're only a small charity so need as much help as possible.

Is is it ok for me to post the details in the arrange a game section then?

thanks again

I imagine the charity has a database of registered helpers/supporters?

email them all with details.
Email the local paper with details.
stick leaflets up in local shops.
Tell the local radio.
Tell the local chamber of commerce/business/round table etc
Ask the club to email all members with details and request their support, and to pass it on
