We're thinking of chucking clubs in back of car and heading for the sun.

Has anyone taken their battery and charger to Europe and does it work?

Thanks

The UK is on a 415V 50Hz 3 phase system and Europe is a 400V 50Hz 3 phase. So no problem at all. The only time you get problems is with places like the US where the voltage is considerably lower.

If you are really worried, you could get a cheap surge protector extension lead. Plug this into the dirty french leccy, then your battery charger to the extension lead.

Most chargers will have a input range at what they work at, it should be stamped on it. Something like 110-240v ac input 12v dc output. Some have a switch to flick between input voltages.

Don't forget batteries charge 1 hour faster on the continent due to the time difference ;)

I don't have a UKIP trolley so it should be ok running on French power!

In industry maybe, the domestic mains is 230v single phase in this country. Most of Europe is either 230 or 115v with a two pin plug. Just use an adaptor and your charger should adapt to whatever is feeding it.

Obviously the single phase is 230, but that is derived from the 3 phase system by taking a phase to earth as opposed to taking a phase to phase supply designed to be used by industry so everyone can be hooked up on the same system.
