Seems Charl Schwartzel has signed for PXG and will be using at least some of their clubs this week in the open, he last played 2 weeks as a Nike sponsored player. Brave or stupid (or just financially sensible lol)

Thought something was up yesterday when I watched him on sky
Masters ( Augusta ) jumper
FOOTJOY shoes
Was hitting a Titleist CB iron

No Nike swoosh anywhere to be seen......

Noticed this too, and a Troon hat, might have joined and be playing as a Member;)

Didn't Mickleson do it just before an Open or Ryder Cup?

He changed to Callaway just before 2004 Ryder Cup I think and I think he put his first drive in the water and got the look from Woods ( that might have been K Club actually ) ?

Should do more research before investing in bets

Charl's one of my outrights - surely it takes a while, even as a professional, to bed in new manufacturers clubs and become comfortable with them.Unless they're nike clubs with PXG logo lol

Mickelson loves talking up whichever new driver is in the bag and how he now feels he can get after it like he wants to...

Then proceeds to hit about 2 fairways and miss the cut

I am pretty certain the change did not come as sudden as it appears and Schwartzel had plenty of time to practice with the PXG clubs. It is just the official announcement that makes it look so sudden (and which is placed close to the Open because that way it gets more media coverage ... this thread kind of proves that that works).

This makes sense. Can't see that anyone would suddenly jump brand that close to a major without having done some massive testing to get the specs absolutely right for him. The announcement before the major starts makes sense to get as much publicity as they can before it starts.

PXG are top notch clubs very nice to hit, watch out for more players signing for them.

Drivers at the moment are not great but the irons are nice

Im sure he'll have been hitting them for a lot longer than 2 weeks.

PXG must be paying good money to these boys, no one tends to leave Ping and Johnson has been with Titleist for years.
