Currently i play with TM Burner XD irons that i brought off ebay for £185 quid and have been using them for over a year,im sure there fake as the paints come off quite considerably. When i first started with them i could not hit them at all and was ready to ditch them and stay with my old boxer clubs[who] but i persevered and they have taken me to near single figures.I said to myself when i get to single figures i will treat myself to a new set.My playing partner who has just been CF for the AP1s and is currently struggling to adapt, after using Di7s for five years, offered me his Di7s to try and i cant seem to adjust and in my head they feel slightly closed at address throwing all sorts into the brain. However sooner or later im going to change,so how long would you say its takes to addapt to a new set?and what are your experiences when you changed club.

Sorry for long post.

I'm still getting used to my new set.

I'm sure I played off scratch with the old ones. :D

About 2-3 practices and 2 games....is the real answer.

Never got used to my i15's
Took 2 weeks to get used to my MP58's.

Then his handicap went up
And he was humbled by Fragger
Funny that

He is going to go all out for revenge on Friday
But im not going to give up my crown easily

poker, in answer to your Op, it could take weeks or months, but get them custom fitted and then you will know that any problems are you and not the clubs

Im in a bit of a love hate relationship with my wilsonstaff FG Tours at the moment....Some days i hit them well others i struggle with dispersion and accuracy....
I have no problem with distance or getting them up in the air.
But there's always that element in your mind when your faced with the dilemma of 2 types of clubs.....You pick one and then after a few rounds your wondering how you'd be hitting the others if you had went with them first day......

PJ. I started with the wilson DI7's and got on pretty well with them there very long but there the souped up lofts more than anything i think......
There's a lot of offset in them and the fatshafts tend to play a little bit stiffer than most regular shafted irons.....They were plenty long but i just wanted a change.

recently swapped from mizuno zoid true (blade/musclebacks) to hogan apex FTXs; first round was hitting them a bit thin as they are (feel) heavier; by round 2 was flushing them .

When i'ev swapped drivers/fairways woods over the years though, it's typically taken me a month or 2 ( 6 to 8 rounds) to get used to them

My Cobra SZ irons felt pretty good straight out the box but they are similar in head shape and shaft to my old Orks Kii irons

Got to grips with my TP's very quickly and a step up over the R9's. I know I'm struggling but its me and not the clubs. I still get some forgiveness with the TP's and so I'm sticking. If I can get the swing working (and it will come back) then onwards and upwards (or downwards in terms of handicap). Not there yet mind.

I got on with my tp's pretty quickly and do really like them, that doesnt mean I do not hit the odd bad though!!
My ball striking is pretty solid, I can usually get on with most irons, its other things I struggle with!! :)

I think if you are a reasonable player and the clubs are right for you it shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 rounds to be comfortable with them. I say "reasonable" becasue if you havn't got a repeatable(ish) swing then it almost doesn't matter what you use, the results will be so varied.

Ping I10's no change over period, straight into honeymoon period, now happily married bliss!!

Guess that's why Ping and I get on so well together.

Change from Ping G10 to i15 have to say got on with the clubs straight away, only problem is that i am hitting the ball another 15yds further than the G10, but after spending 1 Hr getting C/F at Ping H/Q, would of thought if the C/F is done right there should be no problem. Forget to say C/F at Ping is FREE :D

I bought my first set of clubs from a car boot sale, for xmas HID treated me to a new set of Cobra SZ’s.
Love them to bits, the only problem I had was distance control. With my old irons I would hit an 8i into the green, new 8i would clear the green, not by a little but land a good 10-20yds past. Was just getting the new distances under control and then the weather improved and I’m having to re-think it all again!!
