Hi just a general question. How do you know when its time to change your clubs, whether its drivers, irons, putters etc.Do believe all the hype about the latest models or do you feel you have gone as far as you can with your present clubs?

When they stop working, birthdays, Xmas or when I work a load of extra hours at work and fancy a splurge or when H.I.D has booked to go away on a long hen weekend and I fancy a treat to!

mostly when you lose confidence in them or with my MX19s when I get to a hcp of 10 and its stable I will look at changing them. On the other hand when I have spare cash or the need to buy something golf related.

I am pretty happy at the moment with my setup - but I do tend to like new toys. And I am an advertisers dream - the better the ad the more I pay.

I have no plans on changing until I outgrow my clubs - which will probably be a while. But I have spent a while changing until I am happy.

I am in the process of updating my woods as they were originally steelhead + and technology has moved on substantially. I have done the drive and 3 wood but need to get a new 5 wood.

The only things I have a real weakness for are new golf bags (I love ones with loads of pockets and comfy straps) and putters. I get them in my hand and they feel like the one and I sink a few putts and before I know it the card has been processed and they are asking for my pin number. They seem to work for a few weeks and then the batteries in them die and I'm back to square one. It can't possibly be the numpty holding it.

Actually I am dedicating at least an hour a week to my putting at the moment especially the little 2 footers and so I am hoping this part of my game will start to show significant improvement

I change when my confidence is shot with a club (the hybrid may not last much longer) or, as with most people, when I fancy a bit of a splurge. Do not spend cash on much else, I am not fashion concious nor do I need the latest gadgets, so this is my main weakness when I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket.

New driver, irons and gap wedge has lifted my spirits no end. Our club is into qualifying conditions since last week so hopefully it wont be long before they prove their worth cause they were bloody expensive!
